This allowed locals to build the city around them to suit their good fortunes. Located some 80 miles north of Seattle and 55 south of Vancouver, the major tourist draw of this area is certainly the Fairhaven District. This area was constructed to be a metropolitan utopia of sorts, with plenty of museums, theatres and unique architecture from the turn of the nineteenth century. The Mt. Baker Theatre is one popular specific example that seems to always be putting on a show. The beautiful waters of the Bellingham Bay, and the forests of the North Cascade Mountains are just a short ride from Bellingham, providing locals and visitors with lots of great fishing, hunting, skiing and other outdoor activities. If you are in Washington near the Puget Sound, swing through Bellingham for a bit to take in her historic architecture and culture.

Having grown up here I can say without a doubt that Bellingham (second to Seattle) is hipster adventure paradise. Gloriously alive in the spring. Plenty of wonderful outdoorsy trips to take. I live in San Diego now but want to go back so badly.

My aunt and uncle live on North Shore Drive, near Silver Beach. I spent a couple of great vacations there. Love Bellingham

This city was pretty cool, but I wish I spent more time here. The people were really nice and I read somewhere that Bellingham, WA is one of the best places to retire.

The malls are fun to shop at and I always go to a super good restaurant that's in the area but I forgot what it's called...

This sleepy little town is just south of the Canadian boarder. I loved checking out the local brewery, playing frisbee by the waterfront, exploring, and wondering around this quaint town.
