A stunning cathedral located in central Berlin! A great spot to tour around, take pictures or relax on the great lawn that's right out front. Has a great view of the TV Tower in the background as well.

It's really nice and just by the museum island. With a view to the TV tower. Worth a visit and free to take pictures. Also right next to the GDR museum, River Spree and Sea Life.

Seated along the Spree river, the Berliner Cathedral Church is a magnificent view just before sunset. You will also find organ with 7,000 pipes and royal tombs in it. Last admission is at 5pm.

Berlin Dom is the largest church in the city, and it serves as a vital center for the Protestants.

Didn't go into the Dom or the museum next door, there is plenty to appreciate and marvel at for free in Berlin.

The Berlin Cathedral was completed in 1905. While impressive from the outside and inside a climb to the upper level offers a 360 degree panoramic view of the city and is perhaps the best part of the visit.

When I went to Berlin we decided to walk around and do a little sightseeing. Berlin had some beautiful old buildings and this Dom is pretty.

Really beautiful building, inside and out. Get cheap access inside the building and climb all the way to the top (many many steps) for a really great view of Berlin. And then down into the crypt. It doesn't seem to be as old as I had expected, but it was great to see.

The oldest church in Berlin is worth a visit- they are continually doing construction in an effort to rebuild the wreckage caused by WWII, and this area across Museum Island is included.
The grounds around the Dome are gorgeous, with nearly every angle and step being a lovely photo opp.

What a spectacular sight in downtown Berlin. I love that the lawn in front is used as a park space on nice days.

Sometimes called Berlin Cathedral, this is Berlin's largest Protestant church, so not a cathedral. There is an admission charge to enter. The interior is heavily ornate Baroque. You can walk up to the dome.

The former court church of the Kaiser and his family. Again very badly damaged during the second world war.

Built in 1905, the Berliner Dom was left in ruins following WWII. The DDR agreed to its refurbishment throughout the 70s and 80s. The cathedral is absolutely beautiful, and offers splendid views if you want to climb up the dome. Worth a view for the history and its beauty - even if you're not a fan of old churches.

A very impressive building both outside and inside. Richly decorated with statues and paintings. i would not describe it as beautiful, rather more imposing. This was build to show the might of the German empire. Go up to the stairs to the first floor, where you have a better view & photo opportunities.

Berliner Dom is the colloquial name for the Evangelical (i.e. Protestant) Oberpfarr- und Domkirche (English analogously: Supreme Parish and Collegiate Church. Located on Museum Island it is worth a visit and also sitting in the gardens people watching.

With its striking dome of the mighty Berlin Cathedral in the center of Berlin is hard to miss. As a former court cathedral and the Cathedral of the Hohenzollern dynasty under Emperor Wilhelm II in 1894 to 1905, was rebuilt. Today, above all, the baptism and marriage church, the imperial staircase, the Hohenzollern crypt, the Cathedral Museum and of course the preaching church with its impressive dome are worth a visit.

Caught the Dom on an evening when they were projecting lighting on it. Magical, inside and out!
