Description
If Fifth Avenue had a German cousin, it would be called Kurfürstendamm. The 3.5 kilometer long boulevard has been a part of Berlin since the 1500’s when it was developed as a road to the Grunewald ... Read more
hunting lodge. It the 1920’s it was the epicenter of Berlin’s swanky nightlife. Shops started popping up around this time but were soon shut down after their Jewish owners were forcibly removed. It wasn’t until after World War II that it’s current incarnation as a fabulous shopping a leisure lane really began. Today, you’ll find a surfeit of shops, boutique hotels, and fantastic cafes. You’ll also probably come across the interesting art installment, the Buddy Bear project.

This upscale shopping street has gone the way of the luxury chain gang but is still worth a stroll and is an important artery for the city.

This is the main shopping street in Berlin. It's mostly expensive shops but at the top, there's some more affordable German shops.

This was the image that always came to my mind when I thought about Berlin. It's a stunning reminder of German (and moreover European) history. Located in the heart of a commercial area, a skeleton of a church is the last thing you'd expect to find here.

This is one of the main shopping streets in Berlin. It can be quite busy but is fun to just see the tourists and locals alike walking around. Lots of food places to give you a reason to stop and just enjoy.

Ku'damm was the main shopping street of West Berlin, and it continues to be the main shopping street of reunited Berlin (though others like Freidrichstraße are giving it a run for its money). Whilst shopping is the main attraction (including KaDeWe near Wittenbergplatz on what is actually Tauentzienstraße), you should also ensure you don't miss the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche (the bombed out church from World War II). Very near Ku'damm is Zoo station and the Zoologischer Garten Berlin. The Story of Berlin museum is also worth a visit.

While the "old" part of town, there is still quite a bit of high end shopping here.

This is where the rich and famous go, but so much fun just to walk along and window shop.

What a street... it's by far the most opulent high end street of the city. If you're looking for luxury brands and love to shop, this is where you will want to be.

Lots of stores to poke in and out of... definitely it would be easy to spend more money than would be wise. If you're looking for a shopping trip, this is the street to check out.
