I firstly need to caveat that I came here for a work dinner so i did not pay for this meal.

I had only tried a few of Wolfgang Puck's lower end restaurants and was always unimpressed. However, Cut definitely changed my mind.

Firstly, the service was absolutely amazing. When our group wanted to order a dumpling soup appetizer to share, the kitchen staff split it up and ensured that everyone got their own bowl. All of the appetizers were amazing - we had a variety of salads, the tartare, the octopus, etc. We also ordered the lobster on the side which was heavenly.

For the main dishes, the maitre d' brought out a tray to show everyone what the cuts all looked like, which helped me mentally distinguish the different types of steak. I ended up going with the American wagyu which was the best steak I've ever had. It was rich and soft and perfectly cooked. I also distinctly remember the mac n cheese being really, really delicious - and I'm not a huge fan of mac n cheese. Also loved the mashed potatoes and the corn.

We also opted to order one of each dessert to try. They were all splendid of course, although I loved the banana dessert the most.

Basically, if you want to go somewhere reallyyyyy fancy with some good food - go to Cut.

PS Wolfgang Puck came out and said hi to all of us at the end which made my night.

Las Vegas has a glut of steakhouses, I know. And who needs another Wolfgang Puck restaurant on the Strip? Everybody, it seems. I've eaten at a lot of the top steakhouses in town, and Cut truly is a cut above. I stopped in just for appetizers and drinks, and ended up staying through dinner. Everything was flawless, hearty and imaginatively spiced and presented. Service was likewise excellent, and the mod, earth-toned decor is a bright change from the dimly lit steakhouses of old. The bill for two was $175, and yet I didn't mind splashing out. A memorable meal, for sure.

Took my mom to CUT for her 60th birthday and everybody loved it! I can't really say anything that hasn't already been said. The food is delicious. They have several types of steaks varying in region and aging. The stand outs are the American Wagyu ( a mix between American Angus and Wagyu) and the Australian Wagyu which is 100% Wagyu beef. This time around I tried the 100% Wagyu and it was amazing. Melted in your mouth. It super rich. I like to think of it as steak flavored butter. It quite expensive at about $150 for 8 ounces. For a more affordable option I'd say that the American Wagyu Porterhouse for two is great! It is a nice middle ground you get the fattiness of wagyu and the flavor or American Angus. Sides are served family style and everything was delicious (mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, mushrooms and shishito peppers, spinach). We also ordered an array of desserts. My favorites were the Baked Alaska and Banana Cream Pie.

CUT is exactly what you'd expect: amazing food and excellent service! Definitely worthy of its Michelin Star. But all that comes at a price. Be prepared to shell out the $$$.

I liked CUT but I can't say i was "Wowed".
It is trendy and the people are interesting.
I stayed at the hotel so it was an easy option for me.
Would I go there again? No.
With so many really great restaurants in LA there woul be no point.
It is really just another Wolfgang Puck restaurant.

I thought CUT was good, but given the hype I was expecting to have my socks knocked off. I didn't. The atmosphere is fun and the crowd is reasonably cool, but the portions were small. Would give it four stars, not more.
