I came here on a first date. The food was amazing to say the least but what I really loved was the intimate/private setting and a very fun dining experience. I recommend this place for any sushi lover.

Chef Fujita was so much fun!! He’s constantly cracking up jokes which made the night soooo much fun! The 20 course omasake meal was one for the books. No regrets!

Showing one of our Gogobot Pros from Oahu how sushi is done in LA! Tried the lobster roll and it was just as delicious as everything on their "trust me" menu! My absolute favorite place to bring visitors for an amazing LA sushi experience! Come here and order the "trust me" and leave it to chef nozawa to cut you the freshest slice of sashimi! Each piece melts like butter in your mouth!

For me this is the grand daddy of omakase sushi in LA. Not even Urusawa rates higher with me. Chef Fujita is warm, welcoming - and most importantly, really knows his sushi. You're guaranteed to get bang for your buck too with 20 courses (although it's really only 18 bc they count dessert and tea as two courses). Only seats 10 at a time so make reservations!

By far the best place to eat sushi, ever. I crave this all the time, and when I'm eating other sushi I always compare it to sugarfish. No comparison of course.

Let's talk serious sushi. SUGARFISH is, by far, the best I've ever tasted (so far), and what I base all my opinions of other restaurants on.

TRUST ME.

Or, if you're not that hungry, Trust Me Lite. Or if you're starving, go one up from Trust Me and indulge yourself in the best melange of nigiri you'll ever have. Melt in your mouth like butter cold fishies on warm, seasoned rice. This is not for the faint of heart - be careful, you might just lose yourself. Beautifully decorated interior, you start with edamame. Toast to the night with some sake (I prefer filtered, but they have unfiltered, too), or Sapporo, or even just their green tea iced tea.

I always make it a point to pick off every last bit of rice that might fall off the nigiri ball, but that's just me. Pick the Trust Me.

Trust me.

As Connie pointed out, they do have tip included, so all you have to do is sign. Park around back (one street over) for a $2 flat rate!

SUGARFISH is one of the best sushi restaurants in LA because not only do they serve some of the freshest fish around, they have awesome and reasonably priced set menus during dinner and they are no nonsense. All their locations are small and they don't take reservations, but they are quick to turnaround their tables. A 16% gratuity is also added to the bill so no additional tip is required. Not on their set menus is their lobster hand roll, which is a must order. They are happy to substitute items in the set menus as well. You won't find any crazy rolls or fusion dishes, it's all about the simplicity of flavors here.

This location is popular with the celebrities, so you'll probably rub elbows with one.
