Stunning location and a must visit if you are in Europe. The hostels in the city are of great quality and the service is fantastic. The town in general is quaint and beautiful. Best to visit in May as the weather is good and it is before peak season

One of the most beautiful places I have ever been, while you can enjoy Bled in one day, it is worth staying a few days to relax and take it all in.

Bled, the lakeside town with its storybook church on an island and storybook castle perched on a cliff high above, is so picturesque that it verges on parody. How can a place this fairytale-looking be real? Yet it is, and even when mobbed with tourists (and trust me, it WILL get mobbed) all it takes is a walk around the lake a bit away from the madding crowd to feel that magic creep into you once again. A friend of mine proposed to his girlfriend here, and it makes perfect sense: I can't think of a more romantic spot. (Bonus points: the famous cream cake here is everywhere, and lives up to its reputation. Eat one.)

Beautiful town. Didn't think I would love it so much. You can really take your time and enjoy the nature here. Check out the castle, eat some cream cake and go on many walks around the lake.

I have mixed feelings about Bled. First of all, it's gorgeous. No really. It looks better than the pictures. I came in the fall with the colors of the leaves changing, the fog rolling in and it was just magical. Hiking, walking around the lake was fantastic.
The rest of the town...not so much. I found it very difficult to find good food that wasn't super expensive or low quality. I'm not going to pay 9 euros for chips and salsa. Sorry. I know they are a touristy place so they cater to couples and other people who want big meals and will put down 40-50 euros for it, but that's not me. I found I had very few options and spent a lot of time researching, only to show up and find out the prices had skyrocketed or they were shut.
I really loved walking around and sitting by the lake, going to the island, even hiking up to the castle. But the food scene left a lot to be desired.

One of the most picturesque place in Slovenia. The polenta boat ride to the island is a must! I can go back again and do this adventure.

Slovenia is a small country and Bled is its most popular attraction, so the area can be a bit crowded in high season. You shouldn't let that deter you however because it's popular for a reason.

The town is pleasant, if a bit overdeveloped in places, but the lake itself is simply gorgeous. It lies in the shadow of the Julian Alps and its waters take on an extraordinary shade of blue. There's a striking island and church in the middle of the lake, and a medieval castle is perched above it.

All this can be seen from the 6km trail that runs around the lake or on a boat-trip across to the island. The best views though are up on the hills. Take the Osojnica trail from near Camp Bled to the top for a panoramic perspective across the whole landscape.

Most tourists know Bled for its fairytale-esque Lake Bled. But this scenic town has much more to offer. If you're looking for a relaxing escape by the sea, visit its downtown and sample the decadent "Bled Cream Cake" (Kremsnita) in the idyllic centre. If you want a more active vacation, climb the towering Mt. Stol, and admire the Karavanke mountain range, or hike along the Vintgar Gorge.
