Some of the best BBQ chicken and truly delicious sides I've had anywhere. No limp veggies or flavorless stewed greens here. The buttermilk biscuits are to die for! Friendly service too.

Yum! I came here because this is Tiffany from Top Chef's restaurant, and I'm a huge Top Chef fan! This is a tasty BBQ restaurant. Don't miss the outstanding biscuits!

I'm a little biased since I'm from the South, but Sweet Cheeks isn't quite "Texas-style BBQ." Their bread is fantastic though, and I highly recommend that you go for the rolls as an appetizer.

Mighty fine Southern BBQ in a space that somehow captures the feel of a giant family picnic. You might not realize you're actually indoors given the smell of smoked meats, the weathered picnic tables, and 4th of July atmosphere. Generous helpings of chicken, brisket, or pork (of the pulled, ribs, or belly variety) are so large that they are served on trays rather than plates. Side dishes (included with the trays) are large enough to be labeled "scoops" instead. The salt and papper potatoes are a much tastier alternative to fries, and the bucket o' biscuits with honey butter is absurdly, wonderfully gluttonous. For those who can't take on such heaping portions, all meats can also be served on smaller, cheaper sandwiches served on a bulky role or, better yet, Texas toast. For those at the opposite end of the spectrum, the $450 Big Rig contains 2 lbs each of four different meats, a full rack of ribs, a whole chicken, and a quart of each of their sides. Bring hungry, hungry friends.

If you're around Fenway, drop by!

Friend and I were visiting Boston, and staying a hotel that backs up to Fenway park. This is walking distance from Fenway.

Sat outside on the patio. It was ideal!

A good spot for some texas bbq. We ordered beef brisket places, which were a bit fatty, rich, and heavy. However it was worth it as it was juicy, tender, and well cooked, and the bbq sauce complemented the brisket well. We also opted to share the mac n cheese, which was good.

A friend and I were visiting Boston and staying at a hotel right behind Fenway Park. We sort of meandered down the road and stumbled upon Sweet Cheeks, which looked enticing enough - and filling enough. This was my first time having texas bbq and I actually really liked it. My friend and I shared the mac n cheese and each had our own beef brisket plates. Everything was super rich and heavy (which I'm definitely not used to, coming from LA) but I enjoyed every bite of my food-coma inducing meal. The meat definitely could have had less fat, but that's really my only complaint. It was well-cooked and juicy and the bbq sauce complemented it so well. We also sat outside on the patio and the weather was absolutely perfect. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but would definitely return if I was near Fenway.

Sweet Cheeks is one of few BBQ spots in Boston. It is definitely not a place to take a vegetarian as the menu is mostly all meat. They have a nice outdoor beer garden with a decent selection of brews as well as a larger interior filled with tables and a bar. The decor and atmosphere is great! Tin cups, trays and mason jars make dining a little quirky and fun.

I'm a big fan of the BBQ here. As far as the Boylston restaurants near Fenway go, I think this comes close to the top of the list.
