Definitely a highlight of Bremen. If you just have a few hours in this city you should go and walk around the oldest district, Schnoor. Ditch the map and just explore. Walk around the medieval cobbled streets, and stop to peer into the small shops selling souvenirs. You will likely hear a lot of German speaking people around you, and possibly a few tourists. It feels like you have walked into something out of a fairytale, and everything suddenly seems a lot smaller. The tiny fifteenth and sixteenth century houses lining the lanes make for good photographs.

Lovely area with narrow cobbled walking paths in between quaint and very old buildings. Numerous small shops and cafés - our favorite for the food and ice cream sundaes was Cafe Amtsfischerhaus where the English-speaking owner was especially helpful and pleasant.

A very charming old part of Bremen with winding cobbled streets dotted with little craft shops selling a variety of gifts, food and homewards. Look out for the year round Christmas shop and the world's smallest hotel!
