Buenos Aires Vacations

Known for activities ranging from the contagious tango to the worship of futbol demigods such as Maradona and Messi, Buenos Aires is gaining fans from around the world. And, with the price of hotel rooms, you can stay as long as you'd like. Situated on the Rio de la Plata, Buenos Aires has a decidedly European feel. In the 19th century, Italians, ... Read more
Spaniards, and Germans immigrated en masse, bringing their architecture, food and culture. The city, like its tango, is a blend of passion and grace. Feel its pulse at attractions such as the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires, which showcases the modern art movement in South America, and the Parque Tres de Febrero, the city's lush park and gathering place. Popular things to do here include taking in a traditional tango show (or lesson), a soccer match at Boca Stadium or an opera at the Teatro Colon. Traditional Argentine cuisine focuses heavily on beef, so try some a la parrilla (grill) or asado (barbequed). Hotels are ridiculously inexpensive and based by neighborhood. The city center (microcentro) is good for business hotels and Palermo, Retiro and Recoleta is better for atmosphere.

up hotel prices, this is still the best time of year to dine al fresco and catch outdoor tango shows. The winter is relatively mild, with temperatures rarely dipping below freezing and averages in the mid 50s (about 13C), but the best seasons to visit for good weather and better deals are spring (September to November) and fall (March to May). Light rainfall is spread out throughout the year, so bring a raincoat or umbrella, no matter when you travel.

Don't get wasted, don't accept drinks from strangers, learn the language before you go there if possible and you'll be fine.

Sadly never experienced the actual Buenos Aires, and this app won’t let me delete my review. However, if you’re ever in Musselburgh, Scotland, you should check out this Argentinian grill!

There's more to this city than tango and dulce de leche (although there is a lot of both, and rightly so). Potentially my favorite South American city, Buenos Aires is filled with European architecture, beautiful people, old-world charm, and delicious food. You could do a foodcation here without trying, and then you'd be amazed at the caliber of food and presentation at relatively economical price-points compared to what you'd pay back home. There's a lot to see here, but you should probably check what locales are closed on what days so that you don't get excited just to arrive at locked gates. There are numerous neighborhoods, all with differently distinct feels, all with something worth seeing.

Incredible! This city is magical and it really draws you in.. from the food to the people to the night life, the grand boulevards lined with trees, the asado, the tango, it is all very romantic.

Buenos Aires
My introduction to the capital of Argentina was very different than that I had imagined of a South American country. The architecture looks exactly like the architecture in Paris. Clearly European! What I found was the beautiful district of la Bocca (the mouth) founded by Italian emigrants with coloured decorated houses. Of course I visited casa Rosada, the tomb of Eva Peron on the La Recoleta cemetery, Teatro Colon, Parque Hollanda, Plaza de Mayo, the Florida shopping Street and the widest Street in the world the Avenida 9 Julio. Note; Look to the big number of taxis that pass. Tango, drink and eat, what more could you want!

Nice, expensive-looking, European-style city with some great history. Definitely a place to take a tour.

The food and prices were decent, and the portions were big. good pasta and fish, but if you're looking for a good steak, there are better places to go.

This is considered the most European city in South America and after walking around we understand this title. The architecture, the activity, the restaurants, stores, large plazas and wide streets all combine to make this unique.
