Church Street Marketplace. Take the Lake Champlain Ferry as a foot passenger in Port Kent, NY directly to downtown, Burlington Vt. Lots of Great Restaurants, stores to shop at in a walking paradise.
If you bring your bikes, you can do the 13 mile Burlington Waterfront Bikeway.
Or use Lake Champlain Ferry @ Essex, NY to Charlotte, VT. and Rte 7 to Burlington, VT.

The atmosphere here is honestly so peaceful, even with all the commotion going on. Definitely somewhere to check out if you have time. Lots of food!

Church Street is the place to be. Shops and restaurants are all lined up along this pedestrian only area. It's usually pretty busy, but it's something you should definitely visit!

Church street is the main pedestrian shopping district of Burlington. It closely resembles Boulder, Colorado's Pearl Street, which was designed by the same planner. Church Street runs from the 19th century church down the hill toward city hall. It is lined with numerous shops, cafes and restaurants and cleans up nicely at Christmas time.

The commercial area of Burlington. Filled with cute little shops and coffee shops. The coffee shops little bit out of the main area had great value as well.

Cute pedestrian only street filled with shops and restaurants. Lots of street musicians, pubs with bands and locally brewed beer, and specialty stores. Fun for a summer stroll.

Church street has a great vibe. Boutiques, bars, pubs, chain stores, import stores, outdoorsy shops, and little dessert shops all on one street! It feels like New England's Seattle: a little artsy and outdoorsy but still collegiate/academic feeling.
A few street musicians and food carts complete the awesomeness.
I could stay here forever.

Church Street is a four-block, pedestrian-only area of downtown Burlington that is filled with shops, restaurants, bars, and Ben & Jerry's. Most of the businesses are local; only a few national chains have squeezed their way in. The area attracts festivals, street performers, and musicians. A fun place to hang out three seasons of the year (it's just too cold during the winter!).

The commerical and social center of Burlington, Church Street is a bustling pedestrian mall in the middle of downtown. Lined with great dining and shopping options, Church Street is a perfect place to wander away an afternoon. The city's Mardi Gras parade and marathon both swing through here, and winter means you may see ice sculpting contests during your stroll. Highlights along (or just off of) Church Street include Penny Cluse cafe, A Single Pebble Chinese restaurant, Dobra Tea, and the weekend Farmer's Market behind City Hall.
