Byron Bay is a mix of many diverse communities in one town, the locals, surfers, tourists, with luxury mixed with grunge. Home to many artists and craftsmen and actors. Also the venue for a very popular blues festival.

I lived in Byron for over a year and it is by far one of my favorite places in the world!

Byron is famous for being a hippie, surfer hangout but ask anyone who lives there and you'll quickly find that this little cape holds far great significance. This eastern most point of the continent has a far greater significance for the aboriginal natives from this area.

It me it really is the best of all worlds... it's beautiful laid back little alternative beach town with international appeal! Experience the laid back surfer vibe and meet interesting people from around the world all in one place.

Byron Bay is only 90 kilometers away from Gold Coast Airport and it`s a cool place to visit in Australia. There are beautiful beaches in this area. People are laid back and a little hippie. Byron is full of nice restaurants and cafes.

Byron bay and surrounding areas! Minion falls has some great scenery and bush tracks to walk around in, its close to Byron and away from all the touristy vibes.

Also, Tyagarah air space hosts byron bay's sky diving, which is from 14,000ft and one of the best views on the way down!

There is a hidden quarry just off the road after exiting the highway into byron that has a massive jump off into the water basin below which is incredible!

Brunswick Heads is a coastal town just North of byron and has the most chilled coastal town vibe you can get with awesome cafes scattered all along the riverfront and no frantic crowds (the beach is just as good too!)

Ki no ko's sushi bar is unreal, as well as Moui's feast! There are many great cafe's and restaurants you'll be able to find down many a brightly lit alley! :)

Miles of sandy crescents put Byron Bay high on the must-see list for beachcombers and surfers lured by the omnipresent swells at Wategos and The Pass. And this tight-knit community nearly 500 miles up the eastern coast from Sydney happily welcomes travelers into its midst. To mingle, stop by The Top Shop, a popular post-surf coffee and breakfast hangout, or belly up at Woody’s, founded by surfers back in the ’70s. If you can get up by sunrise, a hike to the lighthouse (start at The Pass) will prove well worth it.

On Australia's east coast, this town is equal parts shaggy surfer and rasta-hippie. Learn to grab a wave, shop for moonstones and incense, then pedal around town between bars, cafes and restaurants.

Byron Bay on the East Coast of Australia is the perfect mix of beach and built-up tourism. Where Surfer's Paradise (just down the road) is overflowing with hotels, Byron is a quiet cousin. Awesome surfing, bohemian laid back ambiance and perfect sand.

Archetypal Australian beachside town, complete with delicious fresh food, pubs clubs and hippies. Much more mainstream than is used to be, but head up into the hinterland for a drive around macadamia nut farms and a view of the beautiful ocean.

Byron Bay is a special place. It might be one of the last remaining true surfer beach bum towns. I heard they outlawed chain restaurants, and I definitely did not see any while I was there. A great place to stay a few days and use as a jumping off point to visit surrounding rainforests, or just relax at the beach.
