The breathtaking views, open space and historic structures make this a great place to walk and picnic. Seasonally, the highly rated Bite Into Maine lobster roll food truck is regularly stationed in this park (until they run out of lobstah).

This is the lighthouse they use in most movies to show the ideal "Maine" lighthouse. Worth a visit.

We visited Cape Elizabeth specifically to see the Portland Head lighthouse. It was another overcast/rainy day, which made for some great moody lighting and photography. I'm not sure if/how it's possible to actually get near the lighthouse itself, as we took our photos from the small cove near the Lobster Shack, but it was a nice spot to shoot from and the lighthouse looked great.

Enjoy all of Fort Williams park with old ramifications, and the most photographed lighthouse in the world: Portland Head Light. Stop by the Bite of Maine Food truck while you're there for an award wining lobster roll.

Portland Headlight is a must see!! If you can not see it by sea- you must go by land. Also, there are other National Parks in Cape Elizabeth to see- Fort Williams and Two Lights - also the beaches are spectacular. With some great hidden gems of restaurants nestled in the mix. The Good Table is one of my favorite restaurants in the area- Sunday brunch is always amazing.

The Lighthouse is located at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elisabeth. There is a lot to do there with a Cliff Walk and a couple small forts to explore.

Fun cliff walk very easy for most people and nicely kept. There was a road race going on around the park when we got there. Ton of people, but still lots of fun!

Portland Head Light is located at Fort Williams Park, a beautiful walk or drive through Cape Elizabeth. It's about a mile to the access road from the cottage but it you walk you'll see beautiful ocean front homes along the way.

Head to South Portland from downtown. You will have to cross the Casco Bay Bridge to get there. The view is spectacular and well worth the short trek. If you are up for the challenge take your bike. Once you are there enjoy the view along with the breeze off the Atlantic Ocean. Take a few instagram photos.

This is the most photographed lighthouse in all the world, I've been told. Portland Head is one of three lighthouses you will see every day that you walk into Fort Allen Park. Spring Point and Bug Light lighthouses are visible, and you see Portland Head blinking in the distance.

Great ocean view. Nice place to visit on a sunny day to takes family photo's and have a clam roll. No beach here, but it has the rocky coastal area for a change of pace.

Visited here on a day when the fog was as thick as pea soup and the fog horn was almost deafening. Still, what a great place to spend some time reflecting on what life must have been like during the lighthouse's early years (circa 1780). Great gift shop, gorgeous grounds for a walk along rolling hills that overlook the rocky coastline. A small play area for children is at the entrance to the park. No fee to enter the park.
