Upon entering, you're greeted by a fireplace - one of two - that warm your bones throughout the whole year.Once inside and your eyes adjust to the lighting, you feel that you've stepped inside a pub in Ireland, perhaps on Quay Street. After all, the soul of Galway has been brought by the pub's owner, Ned Giblin, from his own County Galway in song and in spirit. Here, friends greet you with a nod and a smile as you walk past the newly-restored bar area comprised of dark wood and smartly-placed mementos of ireland.

I've had the Guinness beef stew, the potato soup, The Irish nachos, the Irish potato skins, the corn beef and cabbage, the fish and chips, the bangers and mash, and the shepherds pie. I'm working my way through the menu. When live music is playing it can get a bit loud and crowded. But would you have it any other way in an Irish pub. Love this place. More seating in the back and outside patio area.

O'Sullivans is a great traditional Irish pub. With traditional Irish "fayre," plenty of liquor, wine, and beer, and basics like a club sandwich or Juicy Lucy, you can't go wrong. Be sure to try one of the boxsties or the corned beef mac and cheese - or just come for the whiskey and gingers.

You can tell this is an Irish pub because it has an O and an apostrophe in its title. If you approach a restaurant that has that type of name, you can almost bet that it's going to be Irish. Unless of course you are in Japan. If you are in Japan and you see a bar that begins with an O and then an apostrophe, it's probably just a Japanese bar. The O in Japanese is an honorific which means honorable or holy or respected. So this bar's name would be, in Japanese, respected honorable Sullivan.

I love me some Irish food! Great place to go for a yummy plate of corned beef and cabbage, or just try one of their many beers. It's right in the heart of the Village, so it's a great place to eat, drink and hang out at night with friends. Great atmosphere, too: they have fire pits on the patio, live music, and fun trivia nights on Tuesdays!

I've had lots of fun at this place. They have live music regularly, which is awesome for the sleepy town of Carlsbad. They have a decent menu which is also great for late night snacks.
