San Diego off Interstate 5, you can ride the waves by swimming, surfing or skin diving. If you prefer to harvest the bounty of the ocean, then you can go fishing as well. You can even have a picnic with your family and friends. The camp store, which is open from March to October, features a wide variety of amenities in case you need to restock them.

An absolutely beautiful beach! If you're staying in Carlsbad to visit Legoland, theres no need to travel elsewhere for the beach experience.

We love this beach! It is always clean and has easy in and out access. It feels less public or rowdy than other CA beaches.

Carlsbad State Beach is one of many gorgeous Southern California beaches. It is a challenge to book the state campground during.peak season and weekends, but for day use this is a great beach!

Beach camping with toilets and showers. The best! Camp store too! Several stairs to the beach but a great experience for the family. Tent, and RV camping.

Great beach for camping! You have to get your spots early but it's a great price for breach camping. Only down side is taking the stairs down to the beach.

Much calmer and serene than closer beaches like Mb and PB. Chasing sunsets...

Love the beach here - it's never too crowded, always clean, and easy to get to. I prefer this over any other beach in SD (Coronado is right up there too). Enjoy!

Carlsbad has some of the best beaches in San Diego - I love this one for its picturesque sunsets and a thinner strip of sand that's even with the water (instead of tiered up toward the busy street.) It's also quieter than its northern sister, Tamarack, so you can enjoy a peaceful beach paradise all to yourself (sometimes.)

Great place. enough parking. This and oceanside are the best beach locations in San diego. you can even do the campsite here for overnight fun. though you have to book way in advanced to get a spot.

Lots of fun to take a walk and watch the surfers. Park on the street for free or you can pay to park in the lot.

South Carlsbad State Beach is one of my favorite camping locals! A very family-friendly, beautiful spot, the Carlsbad beach is great for kids. If you are up for camping, the nightly rate is very reasonable (ranging from $35-$50). The campsites are set atop the cliffs overlooking the dolphin-filled waters, with easy-access stairs down to the beach scattered throughout the campground. With a general store (great for a mid-day ice cream treat), room to bike-ride throughout the grounds, and plenty of sandy beach, the kids won't want to leave!

Big stretch of beach in North County San Diego. Lots of lifeguards and decent public restrooms at each end. Swim, surf or get your workout on by running the Sea Wall, a paved walkway along the beach (with numerous stair cases for the advanced).

Sand is kind of course, pretty crowded today, but it's still lovely with the shore going on n on.

It was March. We pulled off on the side of the Highway and took a stroll on this most beautiful beach. I was in heaven....
