It’s one of the oldest neighborhoods of the city and also one of the few still standing of the small town from before the massive French reconstruction program. Although it’s the oldest district, most buildings date back to the 19th century.

It's the Old Medina in Casablanca, and one of the must see places when you're there. Just watch out for hacklers trying to distract you and get you to come to their store.

This bazaar is a seemingly unending maze of vendors and stalls, selling everything imaginable in Morocco. Don't miss the Jewish section, with all its sights and smells, or any one of the other areas. It might be worth it to get a local guide who can explain everything you see, smell, and if you're brave, taste. If you're interested in photographing, either ask permission, or do it on the low-down.

The old Medina is a dirty and deteriorated place, it looks like a war zone and how striking the street markets in Marrakesh can get lost in this one because you feel insecure, although people are not aggressive or badly educated. I do not recommend getting into this area if you want to stay with a beautiful memory of Casablanca
