I really enjoy taking my family to this aquarium. It’s located beautifully by the river. Lots to see and do, but sure could use a course in customer service for their employees.

Local from Chattanooga, Tennessee

Walk a few blocks down Main St to the Choo Choo, southside electric shuttle hub and take a free ride to the hub at Aquarium Way. Spend the day walking through both freshwater and saltwater aquariums. Take the time to walk down to the riverfront. If you have little ones, there is a great playground down by the riverfront near the aquarium as well. Grab some pizza at Mellow Mushroom, or some Ice Cream at Cold Stone or Ben and Jerry's. Or maybe grab a movie 1 block over at the Majestic. Or if you are in the walking mood, go up a block and walk the Walnut Street Bridge to Coolidge Park on the North Shore.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my visit to the Tennessee Aquarium with some friends. It was beautiful, informative, soothing, and it is laid out so that you never feel trapped in a big room with too many people.

Wonderful place for a 2-4 hour getaway depending on how long you want to stay. This is a great place for the kids or just for a fun thing to do downtown and it's very affordable. I highly recommend this for all visitors.

A little bit of drive from the home but an excellent aquarium and place to visit - about a 45 minute ride from the Mentone "Rest Easy". Great place to take the family.

Absolutely a wonderful family outing! Our grandchildren had such a good time. We spent over 5 hours there a few years ago and our grandchildren still talk about it. We had so much fun and made so many memories I felt the need to share this place with you and your family.

An aquarium in Tennessee? Don't let the location fool you! The Tennessee Aquarium is amazing. The Tennessee Aquarium is a non-profit which opened in 1992 on the banks of the Tennessee River in downtown Chattanooga, with a major expansion added in 2005. The Tennessee Aquarium is housed in two separate buildings (River Journey and Ocean Journey) that allows break-time for young kids. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown!

Just a 20-25 minute drive into Chattanooga, you won't want to miss the chance to visit the Aquarium. In addition to all the wonderful exhibits, the Tennessee River runs just beside this wonderful Chattanooga attraction and there is so much to do in the area surrounding it.

The whole family will love the fresh water and the salt water aquariums side by side. Right on the shore of the beautiful Tennessee River. A short 30 minute drive to downtown.

United States,

The Tennessee Aquarium is a nice place to take the kids or simply for any nature lover looking for a good time. There are several species of fish and turtles along with other creatures in the river building. Then in the ocean experience building there are butterflies, penguins, jellyfish, sharks, and of course more fish. The ocean exhibit doesn't take quite as long to go through as the river one. If you're into IMAX films, they have those too.

Great place to go anytime. But if it raining on a day you are visiting. This would be the time when you want to go to the Aquarium.

The Tennessee Aquarium is my favorite place in Chattanooga. I could seriously fall asleep in the jellyfish exhibit. It's magical. The interactive exhibits where you can pet sturgeons and stingrays are also incredible.
