Chennai is a great Metropolitan city. It’s safe and cosmopolitan with lots of things to do and many shops.

Saw a few highlights of the city during a festival period, which made it much more fun. The temples are beautiful, but the bronze museum is sorely lacking. The city seems to be a mess, however the people were friendly.

Back to Chennai for work again! Sight and sound Chennai revisited. This trip is for a longer period of time. Taken infront of an earth pot stall seller. Accordingly, the floral colorful pots are the must have for wedding ceremony. The pot is filled with 9 type of grains as some form of symbolism. Full of local flavor!

Like to see different cultures and customs. I was there 5 months visiting my daughter and had a great time. But it did make me appreciate the U.S. more too.

I live by the city since it is my hometown. But it is normally the last big city on a tourist's mind. It is an industrial city, albeit authentically Indian. It has some truly incredible temples but still better ones are in Madurai and Tanjavur interior of the state. The best trip from Chennai is to Mahabalipuram, a beach side temple city dating from 1000 AD.
