Longman Eagle seriously earns its Michelin star. The food is absolutely delicious and their whiskey list is quite extensive. The prices are actually quite affordable for the quality. If you don't want to wait for a table you can check out the bar in the back that has a toned down menu.

Longmont & Eagle is a great restaurant in the heart of Logan Square. We started with the meatballs, bone marrow and melon salad. The meatballs were definitely the star of the appetizer course. They come with polenta and a homemade marinara. Super delicious. The bone marrow was also very good and I definitely recommend this as a starter.

For dinner, four of us split the fried chicken, burger and wild boar sloppy joe. The fried chicken was ridiculously good. Served with a honey, truffle butter and duck fat biscuits, it was the stand out dish of the whole meal.

The only part of the meal that was just okay were the desserts. We split the black sesame donuts, peach pie and the sweet corn funnel cake. Perhaps I am a dessert purist but I wasn't a fan of these savory desserts.

Cocktail wise, they have a huge drink menu and specialize in old fashioned cocktails. I tried the Infinite Sadness and the only sad part was that it was gone in two sips!

Informally recognized as the best Bloody Mary on the West Side, this brunch beverage is the star of the Longman & Eagle drink menu. Come in for a delicious brunch featuring upgrades of traditional American plates and wash it all down with their perfectly spiced Bloody Mary. L&E prides itself on its commitment to farm-to-table ingredients, and you can certainly taste the difference.

Being a whiskey lover, I have been wanting to go to Longman & Eagle for a year. I finally made the trip to Logan Square and it did not disappoint. Not only do they have 30+ whiskey's for $3 everyday, their food menu was delicious & unique. We went at an off hour, as it is a very popular spot on the Weekends. Definitely worth the visit, we will return.

Ok, everyone raves about how amazing this place is and I gotto say, it was good, but I was not blown away. Once you add in the wait time, it's kind of worth it less and less to me. That being said, if you're in the area, it's a good place to try out.

This Logan Square spot is hugely popular with the hipster set in the neighborhood, and with good reason. They have a great drink menu (especially if you like bourbon) and an interesting food menu. I'd give it five stars, but every now and then you order something that's a little less than awesome. The dessert is always a highlight, and if they've got the buffalo frog legs with whipped bleu cheese on the menu, do not pass it up.

In Chicago, competition in the world of gastropubs - essentially bars with strong kitchens - is fierce. But Longman & Eagle stands out, not only for being the only one with a Michelin star, but also for its world-class collection of whiskeys and one of the best pastry selections in the city.

Went for brunch and was not disappointed! The wait was long on Sunday morning but had a coffee and we waited it out. Good thing because the 2 Duck eggs sunny side up with duch hash was outstanding! Also try the Bloody Lawrence if you wanna spin off the bloody mary with whiskey.

I would like them more if they took reservations, but nonetheless the food is cutting edge, original and tasty.

This one was a new discovery in Chicago for me this year. Adventurous but accessible locally sourced food that is very high end, yet affordable. An undeniable hipster vibe, and in the heart of Logan Square. Fantastic service. This is my go-to brunch place! Don't miss the Bloody Larry (Bloody Mary with whiskey) or the Whole Hog Crepinette.

With a motto like "EAT - DRINK - WHISKEY," I didn't need to actually taste anything to be sold.

I was staying in The Loop, so Logan Square was a bit of a trek, but it was one well worth it. The evening was perfect for sitting outside, and we were lucky to score a table as they don't take reservations. We started our meal with some craft cocktails. For you whiskey lovers, they have an impressive collection of 148 selections. You can also appreciate their other unique offerings, which include unusual spirits and biodynamic, small batch wines.

While the guy sitting next to me was enjoying a juicy bacon cheeseburger with a side of beef fat fries (be still my clogged heart) tempted me to order the same, the two of us petite girls decided to order 3 dishes to share: chanterelle agnolotti, pork belly confit and slow roasted cauliflower. We attempted to order a side of beef fat fries, but sadly, they cannot do sides of it. I was sort of crushed by that. Luckily, all 3 dishes were amazing, so it made up for the lack of beef fat fries. If you're a vegetarian, I'd highly recommend the cauliflower, as it is an entree portion.

There's a uber hipster vibe going on here - you can even book a room upstairs in their Ace Hotel-like digs.
