firsthand. Hop on the Pioneer Zephyr, the first diesel-powered stainless-steel train; descend into a fully replicated mine shaft to learn how a sump pump works; and get up close and personal with massive farm machines. For a more hands on approach, the Live Science Experiences bring visitors into the classroom by solving science problems in a communal environment. Lovers of science and technology should find this the highlight of any Chicago trip.

An absolute wonderful must-see museum in Chicago. There is so much to see and do here that you could truly spends days here. The big downside here is the distance from the Loop, so be prepared for an expensive Uber and a good drive.

The Museum of Science and Industry is a Chicago icon, and its permanent exhibits are awesome, with tons of rotating ones as well; one of the current rotating exhibits is a really interesting one about the history of nuclear weapons.

It was a pretty amazing experience wish we got here earlier! The only thing was the map didn't really match where the exhibits actually were! But its okay it was still a really awesome and interactive experience.

I loved this museum and I'd definitely love to come again! It's massive and there's a lot to see and do and explore. It's the largest science museum in the Western Hemisphere.

We had three hours there, but we could have used another few hours, and we move rather quickly through museums.

Do not miss the Numbers in Nature exhibit with its very cool mirror maze. Also the mind exhibit was pretty fun as well as the storms exhibit. Don't miss the hidden gem of the largest pinball game on the lowest level; it's hidden behind the stairs. Also, the live shows are pretty cool. I got to enter a tornado!

We had the fantastic CityPass which covered our museum admission and our choice of a few activities. We chose to check out the U-505 submarine tour which was pretty cool. Our ticket also included a 4D virtual reality ride attraction that made us a bit dizzy and wasn't very good and I usually love those.

Chicago is great that there are so many stellar museums and this one is no exception! If you enjoy interactive museums, you'll love this place and it's not too kiddie either. It's great for adults.

I love the scale of their natural disasters wing. You are greeted with a 2 story tall vortex!!!
Loved their large scale miniature train display - both the urban and rural settings. There are some interactive buttons to make sounds and make trees "fall" over.

If you get a chance, walk in the green stairwell? It has mechanical machines on display where you can see how the pieces all work together to make a complete system.

Paid for their special robot exhibit, and I'm still on the fence about its worth. It was a small exhibit and had some cool pieces, but I am remembering it as underwhelming.

I think the BEST part of the museum was their mirror maze. It was a lot of fun trying to get through. Was worth the admission price.

Spent about 4 hours inside and was able to see everything.

3 HOURS AND MORE, NO LESS!!!!!!

The most fun science museum I've been in my life. If you're scared off by the name "museum" then don't worry. It is indeed a place with a tremendous amount of interactive learning. You will have the best experience ever. And besides you'll learn a lot without even noticing it.

The museum has 4 floors, if you rush maybe you can make it to all floors and areas within 2 hours. If you want to get the full experience, going into the submarine, the Robot Google thing, Mirror Maze etc. you will at least need 5 hours.

IT'S WORTH YOUR TIME!!!

A kid-friendly museum that also engages adults with interactive exhibitions and detailed installations. I've been here several times with my younger brother, and he always finds an exhibit that totally fascinates him and prompts further investigation at home.

From my research I figure that this was a pretty big museum so I allocated an entire day here. Holy cow, I barely scratched the surface! You can easily spend days here and there's something for everyone. The topics in this museum ranged from airplanes to rockets to human bodies and everything in between. They also offered many interactive hands-on exhibits to help stimulate learning.

If I lived in Chicago, I would get a membership here because it was that awesome. If you're a tourist you definitely have to pay them a visit! You won't regret it!

Fabulous, large Chicago museum. Something for everyone here! It is in Hyde Park and if you read the book The Devil In The White City, this was part of the White City.
