Visit America's Highest Mountain! Drive up or take the Cog Railway (Weather permitting). If you are really adventurous you can hike the 13+ miles each way.

Great drive up the Pikes Peak highway. Bring a coat as it may be cool at the very top. Don't forget to drink a lot of water the day before and the of to avoid altitude sickness. Enjoy America's most beautiful mountain.

Drive the scenic Pikes Peak Highway or choose the cog railway. Beautiful breathtaking views. Literally, the air is thin so you may want to wait a day or 2 to acclimate.

Visiting the Summit of Pikes Peak is an awesome drive from 5000 Ft to 14.100 Ft. You can take the Cog Railway all the way from Manitou Springs (2 hr Railroad Ride) or drive yourself! Bring a coat - it's often 40 degrees cooler than Manitou springs.

Climbing Pikes Peak is an annual event for my daughter. This is the 9th year she had supported the Brain Injury Alliance of CO by climbing to the peak. It takes about 8 hours.

Now paved completely to the top, this is a trip you won't want to miss! You can drive yourself, or take a tram to the top from Manitou Springs!

Pikes Peak is the second most visited mountain in the world and can't be missed when in Colorado Springs. It's especially gorgeous in the fall. You can take the COG Railway up, but we wanted to self drive to really enjoy the scenery on our own time. Your drive starts at around 8,000 feet above sea level and you ascend to over 14,100 feet. It was the most scenic drive I've ever been on with lots of fall foliage, lake views, and at the very top, we were greeted with snow! Such an incredible experience!

A must for all travelers. Hikers and runners can enjoy their way to the top via "The Craggs" or Barr Trail. For the family there is the Cog Railway from Manitou Springs or the Pike's Peak Highway.

Pikes Peak is one of the most ubiquitous landmarks of Colorado. In fact it's probably one of the most famous mountains in the United States. From the base, pick any number of trails that wind up the mountain in varying degrees of difficulty. Keep pushing until the summit - this is what Pikes is famous for, the sweeping views from the summit!

Pike's Peak is America's favorite mountain for a reason! It is majestic and at the same time accessible to everyone. You can hike around the mountain, up the mountain, mountain bike, take the Cog Railway to the top, or drive to the summit.

Pricey for overall trip. Book in advance so you get seats. I would recommend the 3 seat side if possible for the best views!

I went to school in the shadow of this mountain. The sight from the top is really something. Take the train or, for the more adventurous, the hiking trail/stairs.

Hike the Barr Trail (Pikes Peak Trail). Park for FREE and walk to trail head from the cottage. Or head west on Hwy 24 and drive up to the summit.
