almost like going back in time to the era where Spanish conquistadors first landed in the area, with some modern luxuries, of course. Parking is a bit scarce, so arriving early is always good. They have a snack bar if you get hungry and floaties if you're not that strong a swimmer. The water can get pretty cold, so keep that in mind as to what time of year you visit. And FYI to parents: Kiddos have to be over 3 years to get in.

This natural, chlorine free pool, fed by an underground spring is my FAVORITE place in Miami. Id go everyday if I could!

Entrance is so cheap and it is such a unique experience! Parking is tricky but the pools mini restaurant has good prices and beautiful seating. This place is a must visit at least once as many Miamians go back here year round even though we have beaches.

There are few pools in the country that can rival the massive size of this aquifer-fed beauty, and certainly none can match its storied past.
Many swimming pools these days are never completely drained. But the mammoth, historic city pool in Coral Gables – 820,000 gallons, about 40 times the size of a large home pool – is emptied and filled every night during the busy swimming season, when residents and tourists flock to the cool waters fed by the Biscayne aquifer.
Carved out of a coral rock quarry, the "Venetian Casino" opened in 1924 with two waterfalls, a grotto and high diving platforms. (The high dives are no longer there.) The accompanying coral rock buildings and covered walkway bear Mediterranean features, including barrel tile roofs. It is nestled amid plants of paradise – royal poinciana, bougainvillea, coconut palms – and once served as a popular music and lecture venue. Celebrated orator William Jennings Bryan spoke here. Paul Whiteman and his orchestra performed here. Swimming and movie stars Esther Williams (1944's Bathing Beauty) and Olympian Johnny Weissmuller (1930s Tarzan films) appeared here.

This is a public swimming pool that looks to have some cool architecture and landscaping around it. It was actually closed for rejuvenation when we were there, but we were able to look in and imagine what it would look like with water (it was too cold to even consider going to a pool anyway...temps were in the 40s this morning.

I'm only giving it a three because the water was freezing cold and I can't enjoy things if it's cold. But, it's a fun pool, really deep, has a cool waterfall you can under and behind, and it has a cave that's also really cool. I spent most of the time sitting at the top of the smaller waterfall because the water up there was warm from the sun. By the way, the water there is real spring water that was only found by mistake when the first settlers in Coral Gables used the site as a quarry for material to build the houses that today make up parts of Coral Gables. Okay. BAiii.

Definitely a stop for families that love a great time at the pool. Theres also a sand section where you could set our blanket and chill. We went during the low season so we felt as though we owned the pool. Had an awesome time there.

This place is amazing--a part of miami that isn't filled with loud, drunk tourists! The lagoon pool is crystal blue with water falling over the natural rock landscape. It is open all year round and cheap to get in with plenty of seating and room to swim. The lagoon is huge! Enjoy!!
