Costa Mesa is a classic "OC" city, complete with palm tree-lined streets, lots of shopping, and of course, plenty of beach. It's also home to the Orange County Fair, a 23-day bonanza held every July, and with more than a million visitors each year is one of the largest in the state. If you are into mall culture, another Costa Mesa superlative is ... Read more
the South Coast Plaza, an enormous shopping center that generates more than a billion dollars per year. For a more cultural experience, head to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts (originally called the Orange County Performing Arts Center), which offers Broadway shows, cabaret, dance and cutting edge theater. For those who want to relax outdoors, the city has over 20 parks and a golf course, and if you want to escape the city, both LA and Disneyland are easy day trips.

Costa Mesa

Like the rest of Southern California, Orange County is known for its year-round pleasant weather. From April to November, you can hardly go wrong weather-wise, with temperatures that stay in the 70s and 80s ... Read more
(21-31). November through March is also mild, though more rainy than the rest of the year. Keep in mind that California is home to a number of microclimates, meaning that temperatures vary as you step off of the coast. In the summer, inland temperatures can reach 90 (32) and occasionally even 100 (38). Also beware of California’s “June Gloom” or “May Grey”, which can cause normally sunny beaches to become overcast and foggy.

Costa Mesa is the happening spot. There's plenty of places to eat and go shopping. It borders a lot of other cities (Santa Ana, Newport Beach, Fountain Valley) making it an excellent midpoint area to meet friends for lunch or dinner

I like to call Costa Mesa the gateway to Newport Beach...
The city has the South Coast Plaza an array of restaurants and generally is a good all around place to hang out. Costa Mesa is also the home of the Orange County Fairgrounds which hosts concerts, events and of course the fair in spring and summer.

Costa Mesa is very clean and well landscaped. A mixture of office parks and residential but a lot of business! There is a great shopping mall and just about every major store and restaurant you could imagine. Very accessible from the freeway!
