Bleh!! Maybe I'm really picky or just biased. Either way, you would want to come here because everyone else says it's the greatest taco joint in LA. Everything is fried here so when you order the tacos, it is a taco that has that toothpick through it to keep it closed so it doesn't open up while it soaks up all that oil during the frying process. I can definitely say that this place is not for me but don't take my word for it. You have to try this out for yourself because it's been one of the marked as one of the go-to destinations of Los Angeles. I'm sure it's in the top 100 or top 50 taco places and a landmark. I'll even be your tour guide and give you directions if you want to go here by yourself. I'll definitely ride along maybe to stay in the car while you order if we cannot find any parking. Look carefully where you park because if you are in the wrong parking lot, they will tow your little car away. I have always told my friends, if you want to go Tito's, I'll roll with you all but find me around the corner at Johnny's for a really good pastrami sandwich with a side of pickles. Ready for some tacos? Ready to roll out?

Good tacos but the lines can get a little overwhelming if you go during the rush hours

Great handmade Mexican food. Has quick lines(5-10 minutes) from open too close at their 5 ordering windows.

"The only thing better than a Tito's taco is 2!" So I mentioned in my list (thank you to all of you who recommended great places!) that my friends are visiting LA for the first time. I ended up taking them here for some local fame. The Texans loved it! I always order 2 tacos with cheese and it comes with chips and salsa. They're salsa is so fresh and puréed it's addicting, so watch out! Oh and cash only! But cool thing is they give change in 50cent pieces!

Tito's tacos has the best but very oily best tacos in the city it's so much fun to people watch there and the tacos are to die for the ground beef is really nicely done very fatty though not a great place for dieters so much fun part of the LA street scene!

Very overrated place. The food was bland the beans runny and the prices were high for what you get. Will not be returning.

A West LA icon, Tito's tacos have you craving their hard shell tacos for days! They definitely get busy, but the turnover is pretty quick and I've never had difficulty getting a parking spot in their private lot. Tito's is definitely popular with both UCLA and SMC students.

Old fashion taco.
I'm talking hard shell tacos and they're GOOD!!

My co-worker has been telling me about Tito's Taco for weeks now. So we decided to make it an office thing. We got everybody's order and headed to Culver City.

The place is big. You can order outside or inside. But the lines usually flows really quickly. They have some tables inside, so eating here is not a problem.

What I noticed, everyone had a big box. The tacos were coming out by the dozen lol. We ended up with three big boxes of food. The dive back was torture are the smell was intoxicating.

Here's the rundown:
Tito's Taco with Cheese - Hard shell taco with ground meat at the bottom and cheese, I mean a lot of cheese on top. It was good!! A little salsa rounds out this bad boy perfectly.

Enchilada - Wow, the best enchilada I've had in a long while. The picture doesn't do it justice, because the cheese got stuck to the aluminum foil that covered it. But the taste is so good. I definitely would recommend this one. Just scrape off the cheese and put it back on the enchilada. lol.

Chicken Tamale - Also good. The masa was just right and the chicken was flavorful.

Burrito with beans and rice - This one missed for me. They put too many beans and rice and not enough of the beef. The beef itself was damn good, just not enough of it.

Chips - They give you a good amount with your order. But we got extras for everyone. They were fresh and very good!

Salsa - So GOOD!! The tomato are diced finely and the taste is just very good. It goes well with everything they have. Not spicy at all, just good flavor. Yum!

Guacamole - It's a bit pricey, but well worth it. One of the better guacamole I've had . Goes well with everything as well. Specially the chips. lol

Parking is small and tight, get here early or find street parking.
Price is very reasonable.
Service is great. They take your order at the window and fills your order. You pay after they get everything together. They were very fast considering how much we ordered and the amount of people they serve each day. (probably 30 to 40 people waiting in line to order at 11:30 am)

CASH ONLY!! There is an ATM by the outside window.

If you're feeling nostalgic and want an old fashion taco, get it here and not at that fast food joint around the corner from you. The difference is night an day! Ding!!

Super popular taco shop that always has a line waiting outside and inside.

The beef tacos are always a delicious and same quality every time. You could say it's the In n Out for tacos in LA.

Hard-shell lovers are largely marginalized in the new world order of tacos, but that’s not the case at this Westside L.A. taco shack that’s been around since 1959. It is unapologetically old-school shredded beef, hard shell, iceberg lettuce—and it offers only two kinds: with cheese and without cheese. Tito’s is also known for its fabulous chili-filled (not chile-filled) burritos, as well as tamales, enchiladas, and tostadas.

I wouldn't call this authentic Mexican food, but it's good for what it is. I like crunchy tacos anyway, so Tito's feels like a nice middle ground between my favorite tijuana-style taqueria and Taco Bell… but in a good way. I just wouldn't make a big effort to come here.

Love the hard shell tacos here...not authentic by any means, but the beef is shredded (not ground beef) and the cheese is melted on top! I could eat their nachos and salsa for days...my boss at UCLA used to put in an order for us the night before (order through their website for orders over $70 in advance) and I would pick it up on my way in. They have burritos, enchiladas, etc. too. Seating inside and outdoors. Parking is limited in a small lot.

I crave these tacos! The lines can get brutal, but the tacos are really worth it - crunchy, hard shell tacos, (yes on the cheese please), freshly fried chips, their tomatoey salsa.

ohhh yeah... This is one of my most favorite taco joints ever... I dont even know if they do stuff other than taco's haha I have never eaten anything else here...

sometimes the line sucks and is too long... but dayem those tacos are always just what the doctor ordered :)

YUM! I seriously cant say more than what others have... but i love that they are slightly greasy beef lettuce and cheese tacos. I can just sit and eat and eat and eat them

Tito's is on a whole 'nother level. I don't even know if it can be considered authentic Mexican food, but it doesn't even matter because Tito's is that great. I don't like tomatoes, I'll eat some salsa's, but I practically drink Tito's salsa. They have a standard, simple menu, so don't expect anything fancy. Order a taco with cheese or a beef and bean burrito with cheese, get a side of salsa (I always do a large and if you have some left over take it home!), and chips. Expect to take it home because all the tables are usually full. If you go during the lunch or dinner rush, expect to wait, they have lines going out the door to the road sometimes.

Yes that is a half eaten tito's taco with cheese. Halfway through scarfing down my meal, I realized I forgot to take a pic of the full size pre-eaten taco for gogobot. Thats how good these deep fried hard shell tacos are, you lose focus on everything except pouring the special tito's salsa into the taco and munching away! Ive eaten here since I was 5 yrs old and will keep on eating here til im 105 yrs old.
