a beautiful vista view. Perfect for youngsters, this park offers a valley trail that is less strenuous for those nature-loving families that want to get outside for healthy hikes on the weekend and escape from their computers and television viewing. At the end of one of the trails is a small farm that children can enjoy. Get there early, as the parking lot fills up fast.

If you're headed to the South Bay Area, Rancho San Antonio has miles of easy, moderate, and very challenging trails, popular for hikers and runners. Amazing views!

This is one of our favorite places to go for weekend hiking, nature observing, and for my son to watch people fly model planes. We started going there when kids were babies and still go there for some real exercise and conversations with kids along the hiking trail. Parking sometimes is a problem, but it is free, very nice.

Beautiful open space preserve with lots of trails for hiking or jogging. There is a great 7 mile loop called the Wildcat loop that winds up with switchbacks to a great overlook point.

I always go here with my dad and bike on the different trails. Everywhere around you is surrounded with beautiful nature, and a breath of fresh air. It is a perfect place to run, bike or enjoy the farm animals here, It is very popular especially in the summer, so make sure you come early to enjoy this amazing area!

There are multiple trails of different difficulty level. My favorite is the PG&E, which is great for hiking. Other trials, such as the Wild Cat loop, are flatter and great for running or for family with little kids.

One of the most popular hiking places in Bay Area. It's hard to find parking, especially during holidays. There are many entrances though, be sure to look for them. I love stopping by deer hollow farm to check out the goats. You can spot lots of wildlife here.

Lovely park with a variety of trails. Can get very busy on weekends and holidays. Parking situation is a major problem especially when a group is trying to get together.

Great place for for hiking and trail running. Many different trails to choose from through canyons, creeks, open meadows. On clear days, there are spectacular views over the Bay Area. 1 mile up the trail is the "Deer Hollow Farm". Great place to come with kids. Just make sure to get here early to get a parking space.

Easy-moderate hiking trails, open spaces, farm and views of the bay area. Family friendly, but not much shade.

One of the South Bay's outdoor recreational open space reserves. It has a lot to offer the trail runner & day hiker. Easy parking access. Tends to attract a good number of people, but even so you can still spot a coyote or a family of deer frequently.

As close as the park was relative to me I rarely frequented it. The environment tends to be dry, dead yellow and I found it hard to enjoy myself most of the time. Otherwise, the park is often frequented and very popular.

A wonderful place to enjoy a peaceful day in nature. I was very lucky to have grown up so close to Rancho San Antonio. My family, friends and I would go for hikes on the weekends and bring picnic lunches that we ate while overlooking the stunning view of the bay area. There are many trail connections throughout Los Altos Hills for locals that have very limited parking, accessible from Hidden Villa, Rhus Ridge Road, La Loma Drive, Olive Tree Lane, and Stonebrook Avenue to name a few.

One of the parks in south bay along 280 in Cupertino. Some parts are paved but most weren't and its great for outdoor running, esepcially if you like trail running.

Great trails - you can definitely get a variety of more mellow and more intense grades. The only complaint I have about this place is the parking lots. They're too tiny for the number of people that go there - so if you get there in the late morning, expect to do some circling until you are lucky enough to come across someone leaving.

Fabulous trails for hiking and running. In the summer it's easy and fun to get lost - but you're never too lost, sooner or later you come out somewhere to a parking lot. Keep climbing up and up for some terrific views of Silicon Valley.
