One of the hottest restaurants in Denver right now. Book ahead. Its in a converted gas station. Food is organic and locally sourced. American food with global influence (think rack of lamb with vindaloo a jus). Everything is good.

This is one of the best restaurants in Denver. I keep going back (and send my friends) and am continously amazed at the food and the service. You are treated like family in a way cool environment (a converted gas station). The owner, Justin Cucci has hit the jackpot with this and its sister restauant, Linger. Both are incredible.
Updating the review once again. Justin has opened two new restaurants and Root Down still is a wonderful date and special occasion restaurant or you could go have a good time for no reason at all. Love it.

I can't understand why people rave about this place. To me, it was overpriced and the food was just so-so. The portions were tiny too! There must be something to it because it's always packed and it always has great reviews. Maybe it's just me.

Really trendy spot for brunch! The quinoa cakes were delicious and service was exceptional. One of our dishes was too salty and the manager took it off the tab because they wanted us to be satisfied. Appreciate the service and decor!

Come here. Reading the menu is a delight--lots of inventive dishes--and the food itself is absolutely incredible. If you have to eat one meal in Denver, come here.

First of all, Root Down’s bottomless blood orange mimosas (available during weekend brunch) are reason enough to visit this Denver eatery. Before Root Down opened in this location, the building was a gas and service station. The service at Root Down is exceptional, and the location (especially if you can sit on one of their two porches) is ideal. Root Down’s chef and cooks serve up great variations on classic using only the finest in farm-fresh ingredients. For vegans and those who eat gluten-free, there are plenty of meal options for you at Root Down. Whether you’re looking for a great brunch spot for a large group of friends or intimate setting for a romantic dinner, Root Down is a farm-to-table restaurant serving up great food and drinks.

Funky, eclectic restaurant in Lower Highlands. Used to be an old gas station/garage shop. Interesting menu, amazing drinks!

An amazing eatery in the LoHi neighborhood, Root Down serves up small plates of gorgeous and tasty food that is local and organic. Reservations are tough to get last minute but the bar area is always available for walk-ins. If you can get a seat in the restaurant area, ask for one facing downtown (or if it's warm enough, on the deck)--the views will make you linger.

This is one of our most favorite restaurants located in the Highlands! It serves up organic deliciousness and an ambience that is casual yet fun. The building itself used to be an old garage that was up-cycled into a new hip restaurant that has colorful old telephones as art and old 1950's photos decoupaged on the walls. Try this place for brunch and be sure to get the bottomless blood orange mimosas with the breakfast burrito. Yum!

For a while, you could say that I was a Root Down addict. I think many Denver locals go through this stage, running straight into Root Down's open patio arms as soon as they finish work to order a blood orange Caipirinha and the Colorado Lamb Sliders. "God, how this combination seems to fall straight from heaven," I would say to fellow co-workers and friends who had not yet seen the light.

There are a few downsides - the biggest being the fact that the bar fills up by 5:15 for happy hour (and you really want to be there during happy hour to get $5-8 plates of delicious food - normally $10-18 on the regular dinner menu). Sometimes the service is slow because of the sheer volume of consumers. But if you're lucky enough to score a table -- and you don't mind crowds -- then I highly recommend eating here.

I stopped in here only for a couple of drinks and to catch a glimpse (not for myself) of whatever football game was on that evening. I had a chance to chat with the bartenders some, and this seems like a genuinely awesome place. The cocktails I had were great, and I love that they grow some of their own vegetables in their front garden. For being hidden away in such a residential area, they stay open and serving quite late, which is always a plus in my book!

Located in LoHi, this is a local's favorite. The majority of the food is served tapas style and comes from farms around the area - nothing on the menu will disappoint. If you’re just looking for a drink, the drink menu rivals a book and you can’t go wrong with any cocktail

Amazing!! Wow, I wanna go back already. Such tasty food. We had brunch there and I had steak and eggs. The eggs had cheese cooked into it and the steak was perfect. Bloody Mary to wash it down and I was a happy camper. The wait was long, so make a reservation. Nice friendly staff and cool converted building that looks like it was an old auto shop. Definitely a must try.

One of my favorite spots in town. The food and atmosphere are excellent. The view off the deck doesn't suck either! As a vegetarian, this is an ideal restaurant for me!

"Root Down aims to connect the neighborhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food. There should be a seamless bond between the elements and experience, which stimulates the senses and draws people in." Some of the most amazing food, service and atmosphere I've experienced in Denver.
