back locals. If you are interested in having a bonfire, then arrive as early as you can. During the summer, the fire pits are usually reserved by noon. This Californian beach also provides a surfing designated beach, non-surfing designated area, snack bar, lifeguards, bathrooms, showers and parking. The snack bar serves hamburgers, ice cream, drinks and snacks. You can also walk across the street to find a great organic coffee shop called the Lofty Bean. If you don't want to eat what the snack bar offers, then you can walk into downtown and easily find a restaurant. This is nice because you don't have to lose your parking spot at the beach. In conclusion, this gorgeous, convenient beach is ideal for relaxing, strolling, and having fun.

One of the best beaches in San Diego, it has everything for everyone. Great food that is all walking distance and tons to do. I would highly recommend it.

One of my favorites. Large parking area above and walk down too the beach or try and find some surface street parking. Great play area for little ones and volleyball courts. During the summer, life guards come out and give CPR demonstrations.

Best beach I have ever been to! Attended a wedding reception here, great for families, beach volleyball, small concession building, nice for walking along shores, and of course memorable sunsets!

Amazing beach with the softest sand! Great public restrooms, concession stand, and live entertainment! Almost feels like a water park except for it being a beach!

The best family friendly beach there is offering beach rentals, concession items, volleyball, playground for the kids, grassy picnic area, lots and lots of sand. Areas for surfing and swimming. This beach always has a life guard on duty. Take a walk from Moonlight to Swami's Beach.

Moonlight beach is great. Great fire rings for night time events. But we usually would have to stake them out hours in advance. Great things for the kiddies.

Parking for this beach is a bear (unless you live close enough to walk), but other than that it's a great beach. The volleyball nets, BBQ pits and playground make it the perfect family beach!

Great little beach in the beach town of Encinitas that is family friendly and offers onsite parking. There are plenty of "hole-in-the-wall" options nearby for lunch or bring a picnic to enjoy on the beach.

Wonderful beach for families. Play areas, sand volleyball courts, bathrooms, food concessions, ocean equipment rentals, fire pits. Stake your place out early! 10 minutes away, a straight shot down Encinitas Blvd from the intersection of Rancho Santa Fe Road and Encinitas Blvd.

One of the BEST North County Beaches, there is a nice park for the kiddos there too! Parking can be challenging at times with the small parking lot, but if you are up in that neck of the woods, might be worth checking out!

This is one of my favorite beaches in San Diego - it's beautiful, clean, has plenty of parking and lots of open space for get-togethers. It's one of the only beaches in SD that has firepits, as well as volleyball nets, picnic tables, outdoor showers, and semi-respectable public bathrooms! There are plenty of lifeguards, and it makes a good family location. On the weekends, there's a flea market in downtown Encinitas (within walking distance to the beach) - the perfect complement to a day of tanning, swimming, or surfing.
