general. The night life is a little different though. Not a very warm safe feeling bumbling from bar to bar. Bouncers are inappropriate towards women and I definitely wouldn't bring any of my friends of color around these places.

The history makes this area unique. Love the old streets. Not many know this but Pippy Longstockings was filmed here.

Learn about the history of the Victorian era of Fernandina from the comfort of a horse-drawn carriage ride or join a guided walking tour through the Amelia Island Museum.
Then find the perfect gift at one of the many shops on Centre St.
And after a good meal at one of the diverse eateries downtown, you can enjoy the sunset from the marina with your favorite beverage.

Our quaint "unspoiled" historic downtown area speaks for itself. During the holidays, the lights are spectacular.

Downtown Fernandina has a "step back in time feel" with all the modern appeal. The restaurants are mostly local owned, providing personality and local culture with character. There are plenty of stores for shopping.

Don't miss Fort Clinch, it is a must see for the history buffs.
