Awesome museum for the whole family! Free to visit excluding the exhibits ( sue the Trex and butterfly rainforest). The exhibits were well worth the money!

An really cool thing to do in Gainesville. This museum is free, although you do have to pay for the Butterfly Rainforest and special exhibits. Great for kids or all ages. There is even a very pleasant cozy play room with manipulatives, books, and activities for toddlers.

Fun place to visit on rainy days or hot days! Exhibits are engaging pay for some exhibits like the butterfly rain forest and you won’t regret it! Bring a camera because little ones will love having the butterflies land on them!

A great museum for all ages. Lean about the natural history of North Florida including the sea life and native Colusa people. Favorite is the huge shark jaw fossils! It’s in the Univ of FL campus and it’s free! (But you do have to pay to go to the very cool Butterfly Rainforest exhibit adjoining the museum)

This place is easily one of the most underrated museums in Gainesville. So few students I knew had gone and, I'll be honest, I only went because I had to for a class. But I am so happy that I went! It's a beautiful, pristine, gorgeous museum, with plenty of amazing facts and displays for both kids and adults. It really shows you how unique the environment of North Florida is, and I definitely recommend it for any natural history lovers or families going through Gainesville.

The museum has a decent collection of fossils found in Florida including the megaladon(huge shark)'s jaws. The exhibits about people of South Florida is interesting. The main attraction though should be the Butterfly Rainforest

Great place to visit with interesting regular exhibits and often great seasonal exhibits. There is also a butterfly rainforest which costs a little extra but is well worth it. There are also food options and a shop in the museum.
