The bed and breakfast was in this historical home, in a historical part of Grand Rapids. They had the original wood work, and antique furniture. The wood floors were immaculate! As you came in it was a very inviting environment. There is this really nice staircase after you come in the entry way.

The rooms have a private bath, only one room had to share with another, but the owner said she only books those for people who know each other so you don’t have to share with strangers.

In the basement was the old ballroom, which now is like a game room. They had tables for playing cards, a bar area, pool table, TV and couches. There was also some movies down there.

There was obviously breakfast in the morning, the owner said she tries to make it so no guest has to have the same breakfast twice.

There is a nice garden area outside, a sunroom off of the dining room, living room and sitting area (both had fireplaces).

One thing I found very helpful was that there was all menus of local restaurants and info on places to go. So you could decide where to eat before you set off.

This house is an incredible, historical treat. Not only does the house itself have a lot of history (it was built in the early 1900s and has only had three owners) but Jane, the owner, has a lot of her own family history wrapped up in the house also. A sign that reads "Peaches" is attached to the front of the house, which comes from her grandfather's old peach orchard. The house has undergone very little change since it was built, which does unfortunately mean that it doesn't have central air. This is okay during the winter months (especially since the room had a working fireplace) but I can imagine that it gets stifling when temperatures top 80 degrees.

Highlights include the amazing murals in the basement -- no one knows who painted them, but Jane assumes that they were painted by someone who owed the owner of the home some money during the Great Depression -- and a beautiful dollhouse that Jane's grandfather built for her mother.
