Located a long walk (or shorter bus ride) outside the city centre this monument is located in a large park with some pretty vistas but there is little else to justify coming out all this way for just a photo opportunity.

Sibelius is dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. The monument is located at the Sibelius Park in Helsinki. It consists of series of more than 600 hollow steel pipes welded together in a wave-like pattern.

Finland has three principal heroes. One is a general, one is from mythology and the third is the composer Sibelius. This monument honors the composer.

The Sibelius Monument, recembling organ pipes, is made of welded steel with the bust of the composer on one side. The monument is one of Helsinki's most popular statues and one of the most well known tourist attractions. The bust in this postcard is Sibelius himself found next to the monument.

The most striking organ pipe monument built in memory of Jean Sibelius in 1967. Oddly, 600 pipes weighing over 24 metric tons are welded together creating this enormous organ pipe like monument in the Sibelius Park, which is an iconic landmark in Helsinki.
