On the outside of the city lie the Shukkeien Garden, it holds an almost zen feeling about it. Wether it is to escape the hustle and bustle of the city or admire bonsai trees, the Garden has everything to offer. It is a nice place to go to take a break from everything, reflect on travels and just admire the beauty.

This was one of the highlights of Hiroshima! This traditional garden is a beautiful way to spend an afternoon but it does get crowded, especially on the weekends. It's peaceful early in the morning and is a nice place to sit and meditate with a cup of tea.

One of the most beautiful gardens I've ever seen. They incorporated all the land elements of Japan into this garden and it's well worth the visit. Pick your time wisely as it can get VERY busy mid day. We went an hour before closing and found it to be quite the nice way to end a day of touring. The most spectacular part of this is just how removed the city feels once you're inside the property.

They have onsite tea bushes and if you come at the right time, you can watch them pick/prepare fresh tea and taste it. A great time indeed!

The fish pond was one of the best I'd ever seen as well... some of the biggest (meaning HUGE) coy fish I'd ever seen.
