travel underground through small tunnels. If you also want to shoot an AK 47, you can do that here! It is best to join a tour to visit these tunnels since they are quite far away from Ho Chi Minh City.

The Cu Chi tunnels is a must do in Ho Chi Minh City. In the tour that you can take to go there, you’ll see how the Vietanamese soldiers were fighting against the U.S. Army.
You can see the tunnels and if you have enough courage you can go inside of them. It’s a profound experience to feel for some minutes how the Vietnamese soldiers were living there for years.
The first 48 km of the Cu Chi tunnels were built the in 1945 during the French invasion and then during the Vietnamese war.

Fascinating
Most people know that the Vietcong used tunnels to hide from the American forces, but I certainly didn't realise the extent of them or how professionally they were built. This is a very interesting tour and well worth the trip from Saigon.

They show a film which some complain is propaganda, and it is, but why shouldn't they be proud of what they accomplished in winning a war against the most powerful nations in the World.

Luckily they have built some tourist size tunnels for us to explore, as the proper ones are tiny, and there are exhibits showing the nasty traps they used, and how they recycled the massive amount of bombs and weapons used against them by the Americans. You actually have to have a local guide to stop you going off the trail as it is still dangerous from mines and unexploded bombs.

The Cu Chi Tunnels are a vast network of tunnels the Vietnamese Army used during the Vietnam War. They were able to eat, sleep, and hide in these series of tunnels for weeks to evade the American military. It's an interesting place to visit and learn about the military tactics used. There are many tourists that visit so be prepared for crowds.

The way this park is set up, visitors can get a sense of what the Vietnamese people here and elsewhere went through during the wars. There are interactive tunnels around, definitely ask the tour guides questions!

This is one of the largest and most complex tunnel systems used by the Viet Cong to slip away from the American forces during the Vietnam War. Do try the tunnels for yourself, if you're not claustrophobic.

Absolutely amazing, as the Cu Chi Tunnels is a crazy network of tunnels that the Viet Cong used to fight the Americans in the Vietnam War. The tunnels are super narrow and stretch for miles. Amazing how anyone can fit down there and move, let alone live underground from weeks to months to years!!!

Extremely moving and upsetting having had a uncle who was a POW for 7 years in Vietnam. It is spooky walking through the jungle and hearing gunshot coming from the shooting range. Don't go through the tunnels even if you are just a tad claustrophobic. I'm not but I started to panic when the man in front of me started to struggle and lie down. It's hard listening to their view of the war being an American.

It is a pretty long bus ride from the city to the site of the Cu Chi tunnels, one of the most famous battlegrounds of the Vietnam War. It was drizzling and got muddy. It is advisable to bring along a poncho and wear suitable shoes.

Nothing better than a hands-on lesson on guerrilla war tactics. Though the tour through TNK in HCMC seemed a bit skewed, it was extremely interesting to see how these tunnels and tactics played such a crucial role in the Vietnam war.
