Beautiful building with some trinkets for sale inside. Post cards are available outside for sale by the street vendors, it is a bit higher price and you can't afford to buy from everyone. Post cards purchased inside the post office is easily accessible and you don't have to haggel. Postage is easy to get and mailing is explained in English.

The Central Post Office in Saigon was designed by Gustave Eiffel who incidentally is the same guy who designed the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Built between, 1886-1891, the building is impressive with its interior arches. If you're into French Colonial architecture, this place is a prime example. The post office is an actual working post office with souvenir shops inside and is constantly visited by tourists daily. Beware of the vendors just outside hawking their wares. There are quite a few ATMs located just inside the entrance as well if you need to pull out Vietnamese Dong.

Charming building. I didn't realize it was still a functioning post office—if you have some postcards to send, bring them along!

The Central Post Office is still a working post office, although it is better known for being a souvenir spot and a tourist haunt these days. The building is beautiful, and so it should be, seeing as it was designed by Gustave Eiffel, the same architect who designed the Eiffel Tower, and built in the late 1800s. The interior has a high glass ceiling and at the end of the hall, a huge portrait of Ho Chi Minh adorns the wall. There are also lots of souvenir shops leading off the main hall.

The French and Gothic styles of architecture are featured strongly in this stunning 19th-century building. It lies just across the road from the Notre Dame Cathedral. A must-visit!

This is beautiful French colonial architecture and it is great inside as well as out. When you are visiting Notre Dame Cathedral take a walk across the street to see the inside of this building. Souvenirs, stamps and just taking in the moment.

Not much to see actually. The shops are selling bad quality souvenirs to tourists.

Excellent French-colonial architecture in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, the post office boasts a beautiful exterior that is as foreign to Asia as it is majestic. We took engagement photos here, so it certainly is a sight to behold.

The Saigon Central Post Office is in an old, colonial french building that was designed by Gustave Eiffel, who also designed the Eiffel Tower. It is a good place to mail your postcards to your friends and families. It is also located right next to the Notre Dame Cathedral.

Close to the cathedral, so take a few minutes to go inside an look around. The wall decorations are interesting and the building itself is very 'colonial'

Aside from the impressive architecture, it's a great spot to send things home with great signage and lot's of English.

A European style building, makes a nice change for a couple of minutes, but if you're used to European cities, it's nothing special

This historic sight is a beautiful reminder of when the French had colonized Vietnam. This post office was designed and constructed by Gustave Eiffel himself. Yes, the creator of the Eiffel tower. His s inspiration was a railroad station that mirrors Musee D'orsay with a giant clock outside. This post office is still being used now with working telephone booths. Interesting tidbits: When the war had started there was a well educated man, who sat there and volunteered to read letter to others who happen to be illiterate. God bless his soul. :D This gorgeous building is a must see!!
