Renowned as a meeting place for Hollywood literary figures and personalities this is Hollywood's oldest restaurant. Charlie Chaplin, Ernest Hemingway, William Faulkner and Thomas Mann all dined here. Hollywood personalities continue to frequent this restaurant.

The food is good. Their martinis are famous. The prices, while not outlandish, are on the high side.

Super rad place. Pretty sure it's the oldest steakhouse in LA. 100% worth checking out.

This is an old old favorite of many travelers and locals. It is from another era-- the 1930s and 1940s old Hollywood. On Hollywood Blvd. You can walk here from apartment. Take a walk back in time.

Great food, great service, outstanding bar! At times, it can take awhile to get your car from the parking valet, due to the small parking lot on the premises. The bartenders are truly amazing and have a wealth of historical information about the place! A grand place for business, social and family get-togethernes!

Hang out and have a tasty steak at this Old School Hollywood Hotspot. Oh if these wall can talk... the service is great and the portion size are decent. My favorites; Rib Eye with Mashed Potatoes

Opened in 1919, it is steeped in Hollywood history, having been the hideout of a host of famous Hollywood celebrities from days gone by. Hollywood’s oldest eatery (since 1919), it is named for original owners Joseph Musso and Frank Toulet. F. Scott Fitzgerald, Charles Bukowski, William Faulkner, Raymond Chandler and Ernest Hemingway drank here during their screenwriting days along with Orson Welles who regularly held court. The waiters can point out their favorite booths and tell stories about which books were partially written here. Legend has it that Charlie Chaplin, Rudolph Valentino, and Douglas Fairbanks raced each other down Hollywood Boulevard on horseback, the loser having to pick up the dinner tab at Musso & Frank’s. Musso & Frank still offers a classic grillroom menu and great martinis served by tuxedo-clad waiters – it will truly make you feel like you are ‘back in the day’ of old Hollywood.

Must have LA DINING experience. Reason #1, one of the oldest LA restaurants Reason #2 it is being bought out & changed by Nuer (owner of NYC Rose Bar) Reason # 3 wonderful dining experience w/ true Old School Italian Charm, Reason #4 Most of all the original waiters still work there... how amazing is that!!!
I love this place, it is a classic, all I have to say as times change, so do places, go there before you miss your opportunity to really enjoy something Classic & Timeless!

Old school, but good, for sure. Highly recommended if you're looking for a timeless experience. But beware, if you're not into older establishments, you might want to go elsewhere.

#BeOut

For dinner on the town, Musso & Frank or Dan Tana's can surely feed your appetite for old-school Hollywood, but while each makes a mean martini (so dry...so wonderfully, wonderfully dry), they can also be a bit mean to your wallet.

Old school Los Angeles. film and music industry still abounds. The kind of place you get a shrimp cocktail and a minute steak with some creamed spinach, know that the food isn't the best, but the martini is and so is the atmosphere.
