thanks to some pressure from some of the label's then most major artists, to be used as the record label's headquarters. Though no longer the headquarters, this historic building still remains in use today. Murals outside the building pay homage to many of the great artists who have been involved with Capital Records throughout the decades, making this the perfect location to visit for any great music aficionado or lover of music and music's history.

You may not "get inside," but it's just fun to stand on John Lennon's star outside on the sidewalk.

I stayed right near here during my time in Hollywood. I didn't go in for a tour or anything but it is a huge landmark and pretty cool to see in person.

Capitol Records began shortly after World War II, the founders choosing "Capitol" as a reflection of their location in Hollywood - the entertainment capitol of the world. The landmark Capitol Records building was completed in 1956, the world's first circular building, resembling a stack of 45-rpm records. The blinking light atop the tower spells out "Hollywood" in Morse code.

HIstory in those buildings - a must see neighborhood - we hung out at a bistro and people-watched
