So I bought the groupon deal for this place, which was awesome cause we saved a lot. A hint, please take the train! The stop at hollywood and highland is right by the museum so its really close. It totally beats having to sit in traffic and dealing with all the pedestrians everywhere. There are a total of 4 floors. The first floor has the exhibit for redheads, blondes, and brunettes (such as Marilyn Monroe). It gives you a good history lesson of Hollywood also! The top two floors are mainly costumes and props used in famous shows throughout the history of movie and television. The bottom floor is known as the dungeon! This is where I think it was pretty scary. All the horror and scary movie props are located here so make sure to bring someone to hold just in case they are scared!

Crammed full of memorabilia like your great-aunt's attic, this museum just off Hollywood Blvd. inside the historic Max Factor building is fun to poke around. Head shots of Old Hollywood stars, used film & TV sets, vintage posters and more are what you'll find inside. It's a spot of authenticity in Hollywood, away from the touristy souvenir shops and wax museum-type attractions.

Kind of cheesy, but still fun to walk through and get your picture taken with all of Hollywood's "stars". Naturally, only visit if you enjoy taking lots of pictures and have a willing partner to take your photo.

Fun, but a lot of them looked really bad. Would rake the expensive wax museum instead.

A must-see on your first visit to Los Angeles. The museum is crammed with memorabilia from a wide array of films/shows: from Silence of the Lambs to Glee. There are cute boudoir-style rooms that house artefacts from iconic starlets like Marilyn (including a showcase of one of her dresses), Judy Garland and the late, great Liz Taylor. The top floor is completely dedicated to Lucille Ball (the museum REALLY loves Lucy!). As a Brit, I didn't find this part that interesting, since Lucille isn't really known in the UK.

The Wax Museum's greatest enticement , which it doesn't capitalize on, is the history of the building it occupies, which history in turn is inseparable from what existed next door. But, that is another story for another time. As for the Wax Museum, if wax celebrity figures interest you, you may want to go instead to Madame Tussaud's, next to the Chinese Theater.

Surely, with so many was figures to pose with, you won't fail to while away a few hours' posing with the stars? If you don't see any live ones walking around the city of angels, at least you'll have some photographic memories to bring back home.
