its front courtyard. Formerly known as Grauman's Chinese Theater, its location on the Hollywood Walk of Fame makes it an extremely popular tourist destination. The sidewalk in front of the theatre is often crowded with street performers and character impersonators who pose for pictures with willing visitors. The theatre is in fact a functioning movie theatre within the Chinese 6 Theatres complex and tickets can be purchased for any show at the box office or online.

it's an awesome theater because it's located directly next to a mall and that mall does have a Louis Vuitton and it has cool stuff and it's just fun to hang around there there's lots of open stores that stay open late.

Its visual impact substantially emasculated by the Hollywood-Highland Center and Madam Tussauds the Chinese Theatre will forever be commonly called Grumman's Chinese Theatre regardless of which corporate ownership pays for naming rights. The inside of the theater is well worth seeing but I would suggest buying a ticket for a movie rather than wasting your money on a tour.

The best way to experience this theater is catching a film. Doesn't even matter what film. You'll have a fantastic experience and surrounded by film history you'll never see elsewhere. This is a tourist staple and must go to place in LA so you can see history throughout the years.

This is a must on the tourist trail! It's fun to see the celebrity tiles and match your footprints, etc. It's crowded, but lively. Go off hours if you can.

One of the famous landmarks in Los Angeles, is the TLC Chinese Theater. There has been multiple red carpet event here for movies and award shows. The venue is absolutely stunning with intricate details inside and outside the building.

A legendary Hollywood landmark but now sits as a tourist trap. Sad but still worth it

Yes it's crowded. Yes it's a pain to get too. Yes you may not know who some of the stars are (or maybe you will). If you've never been, it's fun to stop by and place your hands in one of your fav. celebs prints.

Always busy and crowded with impersonators, not all of them that good. If you try and get a picture with any of them they will ask for money, fair enough, but no need to be quite so aggressive about it.

If you're visiting Hollywood & Highland, walk down a ways and you'll see the Chinese Theatre. It's been called many names in the past (from previous ownership) but will always have the celebrity signatures, hand & footprints in the sidewalk. The theater opened in 1927 with the premiere of the King of Kings. It's hosted many movie premieres since then, including Star Wars in 1977. It also held three Academy Awards ceremonies (1944-1946). In 1968, it was declared a cultural and historic landmark. It now has an IMAX screen with the largest seating capacity in the world. Locals or tourists can visit the TCL Chinese Theatre any day of the week. There are usually street performers outside and large crowds. It's definitely a cool piece of Hollywood history and worth a visit.

It was neat to see the architecture of the Chinese Theatre along with the foot and hand prints with the messages to Sid Grauman from various stars from throughout the years. You won't miss it if you're walking along Hollywood Boulevard.
