What a great way to spend a day with your children (big or small)! Rides and food options for all tastes. So many purchase opportunities, and amazing weather!

I hate this park.

If you really want to appreciate how well-run Disneyland is, just spend a miserable day at Universal Studios Hollywood.

It's clear the park needs to hire twice as many employees, because lines were nightmarish everywhere. Bathrooms? Forget about having toilet paper or a clean seat. The lines for food were crazy all over the park at all times of the day. We waited almost an hour to get lunch at 2:30 pm. The problem wasn't the crowd -- it was the idiots working the registers and in the kitchen that were slow and confused.

Rides? It was complete chaos. Often there was only ONE employee trying to manage the lines at the rides (whereas Disney would have around 6 cast members). This caused for even more confusion and anger. I also personally witnessed 4 employees at different areas of the park snapping and being rude to guests. It was so bad. The employees in Harry Potter land were even shaming my friend (we were traveling with him and his 3 kids) because he wouldn't go to the wand shop and buy them each a $115 wand! He could've afforded to do so, but think of how terrible that would make someone feel if they couldn't! The employee did this IN FRONT OF THE KIDS, so they heard it all. It was so awful.

Many of the rides were in various states of disrepair. We noticed chipped paint, graffiti, broken seats, and worse. Even the larger than life Barney statue at Moe's Tavern had a huge chipped dent in his face!

We did have a super informative tour guide on the studio tram tour, so it wasn't all a total loss. The Simpsons land was detailed and so much fun to wander around. The outdated Waterworld stunt show is still a wild ride. And the character interactions with Puss in Boots, Kung Fu Panda, and the Minions were cool.

I LOVE theme parks, and I've been a passholder at USH in the past. But this was my first visit within the last 8 years, and boy have things changed for the worst!

This isn't the type of park where you come to have a magical day. It's just a money pit. Everything is crazy expensive, and I mean more than Disney. Food ($25 fast food lunch for one), souvenirs ($16 keychains), drinks ($19 cocktail), you name it. We paid $150 EXTRA for our ticket to get their version of "fastpass." This let us cut the line at each ride once on the day we visited. It hardly saved any time because of the morons working the rides. It also made me feel yucky because it creates such a class system (pay to play, I get it, but it was just gross).

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice... you know the rest. I'm done with this park.

I haven't been here in years and oh my have the theme parked changed - for the better of course. I always wanted to ride their Harry Potter ride while also making my way through the park sipping their infamous butter beer. To my suprise, I didn't know there was two types of butter beer? Frozen versus just served cold? I prefer the refreshing option and not the icy style of drinks so I went with the regular one. It was BOMB! I totally thought it was a sugary drink but it wasn't crazy sweet.

The only downfall is that the park is small so it's easy to finish it in half a day.

I love Universal Studios because it has cool shopping different then a lot of other malls or shopping areas including my favorite which is blast from the past and then has a really cool movie theater.

Universal Studios is fun for the first time you go in LA. Universal in Orlando is larger but definitely recommended to visit the LA location.

Fun park and super cheap compared to Disney. It is small and you can do practically everything in one day if you really wanted. If you do two days, then space it out or you’ll run out of stuff. Studio Tour is really fun but like an hour long plus at least half an hour in line so be prepared.

My boyfriend took me here once. We had a very fun time. My favorite part of coming here was being able to stand on the deck of the Bates Motel, the actual movie set from Psycho! One thing I was disappointed about was that I did not see the cheesy mechanical shark used in the movie Jaws during our tour. I also missed the chance to see the Lucille Ball exhibit. I am so disappointed that I missed it. My grandfather knew her and told me stories about the first time he met her. My grandparents introduced me to the I Love Lucy TV show and I have been a fan ever since. I bet she was a fascinating person!

I bought an annual pass for the second year in a row and still love every visit. This place is fun for adults and teens but maybe not so much for younger kiddos.

The back lot tour is a must see experience while you're at Universal. A great behind the scenes view of the studio and insight into how films are made.

Turkey,

The most enjoyable part of visiting LA. You experience highly enjoyable adrenaline in a short time. Studio tours are my favorite. May be you can see an artist. Shopping is expensive. You should be ready for long que. You should experience harry potter, mumy and dead walkers.

Universal Studios Hollywood follows the Disneyland/California Adventure park model. It tries hard but misses the high mark set by Disney. It is half the size of Disneyland at half the entry price but it feels a bit flat by comparison. Hogwarts and Hogsmead are the standout highlights. The park is based on rides which are designed mostly as roller coasters which are aimed at teenagers and adults. There is very little for children who don’t want to be thrown around and scared .
