My heart flutters a little bit when I think back to the amazing view from this hotel. Guests will either get a Diamond Head view or an ocean view and to be honest, you can’t lose with either; they’re both drop-dead stunning. Personally, I woke up to views of the sparkling blue ocean and skies—and I made sure to FaceTime as many friends and family as I could to brag about the view. I stayed in the newly transformed Kealohilani Tower where the interiors had been refreshed to give off a modern and neutral touch with a sophisticated beach vibe. There are two pools to choose from, one of which is beside a gym that was way better equipped than my local gym.

Nice enough hotel as long as you have a view. Pool is ok and pool bar is sort of a disappointment, inconsistent and food leaves a lot to be desired.

It almost feels a bit harsh to write a negative review of this place, when so many of the people working here are so warm, gracious and welcoming. But in every large property, there are a few bad eggs and I've been unfortunate enough to encounter them. To be fair, I loathe resort style hotels - and this place only reinforces that belief. After paying a hefty nightly room rate, plus a 'resort fee' of USD 30 per day, there'll be further attempts to extract as much money from you in the shortest time possible. The hotel itself is an act of architectural and cultural vandalism . OK, so you get the idea I don't like it!

A mega-resort without land to spread out on, the Marriott (1,310 rooms!) concentrates into two high towers and a labyrinth of shops, restaurants and courtyards. The location’s stellar (as are some of the views)—right on the main shopping/dining strip and across the street from Waikiki Beach—and rooms are gently elegant in classically contemporary décor. Highlights include Sansei, one of Honolulu’s best sushi restaurants (don’t miss the lobster/blue crab ravioli appetizer), plus Spa Olakino and the just-opened, huge fitness center. D.K. Steak House and Arancino are very good restaurants as well. For such a large hotel, service always seems warm and professional. But the hotel atmosphere, despite its many orchids, ferns and other décor softeners, still feels sterile. The structure almost resembles white-painted cement parking lots and the layout is so strange that you constantly feel either lost or like you’re missing the party.

Great upgrade as platinum members and the staff is incredible. Love the location and everything. They were awesome during our 2 day "extra stay" courtesy of American Airlines when their plane broke.

The location of this hotel is great! The rooms are nice as well! Right across is the famous Waikiki Beach. If you stay at this hotel, try to get an ocean view room because it will be well worth it seeing Waikiki. The restaurant in the hotel is not that great. We ate a dinner buffet and it was expensive & they didn't have that may items on top of that they had a lot of Indian food, so if you don't like Indian food than this buffet is not or you. Also if ou tented a car and need to park it, the parking at he hotel is an arm & a leg! It cost us $25 per day back in 2009, so I don't know how much it is now, but I would check with he hotel!

Nice hotel across the street from the beach. It's a bit old, and kinda at the southern end of the downtown Waikiki. But it's totally sufficient (and tons better than those hotels more inland) when it comes to a place to stay while in Honolulu.

Sansei is located in this hotel so automatically a benefit.

Great place to stay on the beach. Great view, awesome service!
