These guys crank out delicious malasadas that are light and airy. I tried the malasada puffs filled with various flavored creams -- my favorites were the haupia, guava, mango ones! They come out fresh, so be careful!

I had my very first malasada here from Leonard's Bakery. Malasada is a popular sugary donut that is crispy on the outside and soft in the inside when eaten fresh and hot! They are delicious! You must try when you are visiting in Oahu!

Had to drop by here for the Malasadas! Never had one before and this was worth the hype! There's line when you walk in but it goes pretty quick. I recommend trying a bunch of different flavors because they are all really different and yummy. This will fill you up.

We always stop at Leonard's whenever we're in Honolulu. We always get malasadas - Portuguese doughnuts with filling. Our favorite is chocolate (dobash), but on this trip we tried Macadamia and that might be our new go-to flavor. Other fillings include coconut (haupia), and a monthly flavor - this time it was mango. They're $1 and change each, and one will be enough, though if you've done a hike up Diamond Head or some swimming before, you might be able to eat two. There's always a line, as it's a stop on many food tours, but it moves quickly, and they keep baking more so they're fresh from the oven. I also like the Li Hing sugar coating - a sweet and sour mix that is delicious!

Malasadas are Portuguese Doughnuts. Deep fried, and coated in white sugar, they are best eaten right away while they are hot and fresh! Other coating options are Li Hing and Cinnamon flavors.
Some people choose the malasadas filled with dobash (chocolate), haupia (coconut) or custard. These injected pastries are known as Malasada Puffs.
This bakery also has cakes, pies, bread, cookies, etc. It's currently rated the #1 donut in America!

Home to our infamous Malasadas. Basically deep fried doughnut hole powdered and sugared. Light and airy, crispy and best to eat hot! Must try if you've never had one.

My last day in O'ahu I told myself.. "go to Leonard's before you go".. and guess what? I was not disappointed. Malasadas were originally from Portugal but now it's also all across the world. Famous for its doughy sugary warm bread, it also comes in different fillings. It's a must try for snacks or dessert!

Flavor of the month: Passion Fruit

This incredible tasty Malasadas was devoured easily within minutes. I got a dozen; therefore I got to try one of each. My favorite was the custard, passion fruit, original, and haupia.

A side order of the Long John pastry was also a hit. I bet you didn't know about this did you?

People keep complaining about the wait, but I didn't have problem with that. If you can't find parking, I suggest parking on the side street or in the neighborhood.

I hope you give this Portuguese donuts a try. Cheers! KTHANKSBYE!

Leonard's Bakery, how I love thee.

This place is a must stop ever since I discovered it on my last trip. I've never had such delicious Malasadas or sweet bread. I took my family there and everyone was happily devouring their sugar like it's no tomorrow.

Coconut filled Malasadas are my favorite, the flavor of the month changes, this month was pineapple.

The malasadas are $1.35 each (filled), they also have plain ones as well. There is always a line but it moves quickly and usually you'll have your piping hot malasadas to eat in about 3-5 minutes. One bite and it's just heaven...I'm missing it right now.

They also have sweet bread on sale for $5-6. Enough for 4 people to eat for breakfast with some eggs and sausage. The sweet bread is lightly sweet, fresh, fluffy and a cloud of decadent awesomeness. My dad loved it so much we went back another day to get a second loaf to munch on while we were on the plane.

If this place was in California, I may be at risk for diabetes.

Pretty good malasadas and worth a try if you're around the area but I wouldn't go out of my way for them. Tried all the flavors and didn't particularly liked the guava. Everything else was pretty good

Great place for Portuguese donuts. They make them fresh all day long, so if you're lucky you'll get one right out of the oven (though you might have to wait5 mins or so). The regular with coconut cream is delicious.
