A very special site in Honolulu, and visible from your vacation home. Hike this special mountain and then go to the beach for a swim. Gorgeous views up there too.

A relatively easy hike to experience the classic view of diamond head at the top. Family friendly and you can enjoy Dole whip at the bottom following the hike.

Diamond Head is probably the most iconic sight in Oahu and also probably the most popular hike. It's up all the way but easy to do. Just take your time if you are not the type of person that goes on hikes at all. Beautiful views of the surrounding area!

It's a nice and short hike up to the lookout. It's a fairly easy hike . I went right when they opened and there were already so many people up at the lookout and there were people that were coming down as well. I would guess that it's probably always busy.

Semi-tough hike. It is paved only for the very beginning, then rocky and lots of steep steps. The view is spectacular at the end and well worth the hike! Also, only $1 to enter.

Easy family hike with beautiful views of Honolulu, Waikiki, & the South Shore, from Koko Head to Makakilo. Watch planes taking off from Honolulu International Airport as well as arrivals from N. America on their downwind leg. For a safer and more pleasant hike, after walking through the tunnel, avoid the stairs and walk up to the top by going around to the left and walking up the trail. Refreshing shave ice and drinks available in the truck in the parking lot. Lots of bees near the pavilion/bathrooms from people disposing leftover sweet drinks & shave ice in the rubbish bins. Dump the sweet liquids in the grass away from the picnic tables to prevent run-ins with the bees. (We need the bees to be healthy to pollinate our plants, but it hurts to get stung!) Bring hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, windbreaker if weather is forecasting windy conditions or rain. Hawaii gets cold if there's enough wind and rain, even during the summer.

A great way to start the day. Good to get there early while the morning is fresh.
Not for the unfit however. An exhilarating hike to the top of Diamond Head will be so well worthwhile when you get to the top and survey the panoramic view of Diamond Head, Waikiki, and Coco Head. Takes about 30-40 mins from the bottom and a small fee is to be paid upon entry.

I would definitely recommend coming before 8a. We got there around 740a on a weekday and there were already so many people, it was hard to take good pictures. Parking is $5 cash only! Otherwise, it's great view up top, relatively easier hike. I took 1 star off because it was so crowded! Otherwise the view really is breath taking.

This is a fairly easy hike with a beautiful payoff. If you're a super fitness buff, try running up the trail - part of it is stairs, so it's super good for your butt!

Easy hike, especially if you're not looking to do any crazy climbing, but still has a gorgeous view when you get to the top. Gets a bit crowded, but the path is easy to maneuver around people.

A must when staying in Waikiki, due to its proximity and nice view at the top. Although it may get pretty hot around noon, remember that you get the best view and photos when the sun is directly above you!

You owe it to yourself to do this hike at least once. Get yourself and your camera safely to the top and take one of the most-taken-pictures (wat?) of Waikiki of all time.

A good 20 min hike up the Crater and it is not difficult. A lot of tourists are here as the view of Honolulu is spectacular from the 750+ feet high peak of Diamond Head.

Close to Waikiki. Get a view of the entire south shore of Oahu and Waikiki. Take water and a camera, wear hiking or tennis shoes.
