Description
Manoa Falls is one of the most accessible and rewarding hikes that can be found in Honolulu. Just a short ride north from Waikiki into the scenic Manoa Valley, there is parking available for a small ... Read more
fee, but other than that, you'll find yourself in a exceptionally lush and remote jungle area. Creeping vines and vibrantly colored Hawaiian plant life, including delicious cherry guavas, can be seen from this easy to manage trail. Things can get a bit messy after heavy rains, but a pair of decent shoes ought to prevent much slipping. The trail proceeds through the jungle along a stream for a little less than a mile, and then it ends at the beautiful falls. Water cascades down over fifty feet into a clear pool that you are welcomed to jump in to cool off. If you are interested, consider backtracking to just where the falls is viewable from the trail, and you'll find the trail continues up the mountain further. Heading this way will take you to the Pa'oa Flats, providing an amazing view but it is much more strenuous in terms of hiking. Manoa falls is easily the most widely visited trail/waterfall combo in Hawaii, and should not be missed while in Oahu.

Relatively quick hike that is definitely worth it. If your destination is a waterfall....uhhhhh you've got to give it a try. Bring bug spray!

Fun and beautiful hike! Bring some mosquito repellent and enjoy the epic beauty! Okay for families. Little ones may need some help, but a fun hike for all ages.

Make sure you come here when it has rained recently or else you probably won't get to see the falls. It's a nice little hike to the falls but make sure you bring hiking shoes as the trail can be quite muddy and slippery in parts.

I love this hike. It's on the easier side, but I wouldn't say it's easy, especially if you are not a seasoned hiker. The surrounding area is incredibly lush and you really do feel like you're on the set of Lost. The hike starts off relatively easy, but it gets muddy and dirty and you end at a beautiful waterfall. If you're a seasoned hiker, there are probably better hikes in the area, but this one is a generally accessible hike for everyone else. Wear bug repellent.

Such a beautiful hike to an amazing breathtaking waterfall! The hike is easy! Spray bug repellent beforehand! The air is moist and lots of big mosquitos. The hike up is a little difficult if your shoes don't have a grip. Hike up took about 40-50 minutes for us. Plan to go early! It was perfect weather when we hiked up! (9am).

A great hike not too far from Waikiki Shore. Manoa Falls is a waterfall located in the Manoa Valley. Look straight up towards the mountain from Waikiki Shore. The trail is 1.6 miles and leads up to a 150 foot waterfall. I have done this hike with my Hawaiian hiking shoes (rubber slippers) but most would prefer sport shoes. Highly recommended.

The main waterfall is amazing and the hike there is great too. They also have a lot of other hikes, but are harder. You can really see the tropical part of Oahu on these hikes.

You can go there by car as there is a parking lot in front of the entrance. I recommend you to bring a bottle of water, towel and clothes to change.

Simply beautiful, loved it, the hike took us a little longer than most have posted but still not tough. Took my 5 and 9 year old girls and they did great, don't wear nice shoes especially on the kids. There is a place to wash off at the bottom across from the parking lot. Mud isn't bad and mostly can be avoided but not completely. Definitely a must see.

This is one of Barack Obama's favorite spots in Hawaii, according to Lonely Planet. Everything is green here, and when you finally reach the falls, it's a magnificent view.

Such a great (and easy) hike! There is even a restaurant to eat at! Parking is 5$ and the hike should take around 30 mins to get to the waterfall (if that)! Great if you love to hike or even are traveling with your family!

A pretty forest hike leads to this waterfall (for admiring, not for swimming, sorry!) in the hills above downtown Honolulu. Trailhead parking usually costs about $5 in the lot run by the neighborhood association. To save money, you can take the bus, then walk uphill about a half-mile to the trailhead. Watch out for muddy tree roots after it rains!

Very brief hike (about 45 minutes) but the waterfall is very pretty. Lots of tourists.

This hike is so beautiful! One minute you are in the middle of the hustle and bustle in Waikiki, the next you are staring at this beautiful thing of nature. It's an easy hike, 20 minutes to the waterfall and 20 minutes back. It rained the day we hiked and it added to the adventure. The only part I didn't like was people went beyond the fence and jumped in the water. Other people couldn't take pictures because they were in the scenery. I thought those people were rude and selfish. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience.
