foreign advisers to crush this final stronghold and bring a short lived unified kingdom to the islands. The Pali Lookout was the site of the last stand of Oahu's forces, many of whom were pushed to their death from the towering cliff that gives this area it's scenic beauty. Visitors today will enjoy breathtaking views of windward Oahu from this point. Don't be careless though. Winds are known to whip through this area in excess of fifty miles per hour, so don't end up reliving the tumble so many a Hawaiian warrior did.

An amazing lookout! It is so beautiful and windy up here! Just pay for parking and you could literally spend all day here! We wanted to but had to use a restroom after an hour.. but a must checkout! Amazing after a hike!

Lush beautiful spot to stop and view the island from above. The chickens underfoot will give you a church kle and the stunning vistas will take your breath away.

Just a quick stop is all you need for a great view of the windward side. Also beautiful at night for the lights. The wind is crazy and makes the kids laugh. Take time to read the info signs.

Beautiful views and photos to be taken. A very historical place to visit. Parking is not the best, and you have to pay for it. No hiking involved.

if you're in the area, besides doing the regular touristy stuff. there is a hike that's off the beaten path called the Pali Puka hike, definitely a recommend if you're in the area.

Moderate hike, path is slightly marked by the footsteps from past hikers that have cut through the shrubbery. Be careful when near edges, since it's not an official hike, there are no safety rails. There are some ropes that friendly hikers have left for other hikers to use.

Amazing lookout! Beware: it gets VERY windy. Parking is cheap, and free if you're military.

Beautiful and historic place at the summit divide between the windward and leeward sides of Oahu. Where King Kamehameha won a decisive battle over the warriors of Oahu's king Kalanikupule. Views of Windward Oahu (Kaneohe to Kailua.) Old Pali Road runs along the cliffs to the right side. You may be able to walk along parts of it. Last time I visited, the old road was blocked off due to a landslide. Lock your car and do not leave any valuables in the car, not even in the trunk!

This is a Must Do when you are on the Island of Oahu. It's scenic, historical, and unique. You'll enjoy a breathtaking view of the Windward side of the island and be at the spot where King Kamehameha I threw the enemies over the cliff and united the Hawaiian Islands. Hold onto your caps and skirts because the winds are really strong!

One of the best views in Hawaii! There are some crazy stories surrounding this lookout! Definitely a great place to go watch the sunset or even to get a view of that entire side of the island!

Amazing views and history! You can hike nearby and enjoy the same fabulous views of the bay, or you can simply stand at the edge of the lookout to learn about the Pali's past and feel the awesome power of the wind :)

Challenging hike with crazy drop offs, but views are amazing. That is if you are adventurous enough to make it all the way to the puka (or hole).

The Nuuanu Pali Lookout is a great viewpoint of East/Windward Oahu close to town . There is a sign to the right guiding you to the lookout shortly after you pass Nuuanu on Pali Highway. You exit by taking an upward ramp to the lookout.

Once there, the lookout has a tours and cars section for parking. As mentioned in many previous reviews, there is a $3 parking fee. However, this fee is waived for Hawaii residents. Simply show the parking attendant your Hawaii driver's license and you are good to go.

This is not a spot that you stay very long at. I think most folks would spend 30 minutes at most here because it is incredibly windy. Like tropical storm/hurricane type winds. Particularly bad when you reach the balcony of the lookout. Leave anything that can be blown away in your car rather than risk losing it at the lookout. Hats particularly are vulnerable. Best to wear a hoodie here instead.

The views here however are quite beautiful. You get a nice view of Windward Oahu and the Ko'olau Mountains without having to trek over to that side of the island. Even though it is blustery here, but miraculously your pictures come up great.

The Nuuanu Pali Lookout is a great attraction worth visiting when on Oahu. However, be prepared for the elements before coming here.

The Nuuanu Pali Lookout offers panoramic views of the sheer Koolau cliffs and lush Windward Coast. Driving up the Pali Highway through tall trees and dense forests to get to the lookout, you’ll see the city disappear and the tranquil beauty of Hawaii’s natural landscape emerge. Perched over a thousand feet above the Oahu coastline amid mountain peaks shrouded by clouds, the stone terrace overlooks the areas of Kaneohe and Kailua, Mokolii (a pointy island locals call Chinaman’s Hat) and the University of Hawaii’s marine biology research center, Coconut Island. Other notable landmarks that can be seen are Hawaii Pacific University’s Windward campus, Kaneohe Marine Corps Base and the Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden, which is part of the Honolulu Botanical Gardens.

The Pali Lookout is one of the most special places on the island of Oahu. The site of a massive battle back in the day when Kamehameha united (aka conquered) the rest of the islands and created the Hawaiian Kingdom, some believe the winds rage because of the spirits that were driven off the cliffs during that historic fight.

Overlooking Windward Oahu, this is beautiful to visit whether it's sunny, rainy, or in between(y). Bring your camera, beware of falling rocks if you ignore the signs and go hiking, and be sure to have reverence because this place has some Soul Power man...
