is nearby for a walk or morning jog and there are a few semi-high end restaurants in the area too. The Grove is great for weekend brunch and it's nice to sit on the patio if it isn't too hot because you can see families and people playing or hanging out in the park below. Keep in mind the park isn't as "green" as it usually is due to the drought we've had in Texas. If you're willing to make a short 10 minute drive East (and away from downtown) check out Meridas Mexican Restaurant for amazing margaritas, sopapillas and live mariachi music!

A wonderful modern hotel right in the heart of Houston. Great access to the convention center, Toyota Center and Discovery Green.

This Hilton is conveniently located next to the Convention Center and across the street from Discovery Green. I have attended a few work-related meetings within the sizable and comfortable meeting facilities upstairs.

I also haven't personally experienced any safety issues walking around here during daytime or evening hours and maybe the Discovery Green activities have taken the edge off. Downtown Houston has come a long way since the time I lived here in the 1980s. At the same time, you really need to know where to look, as this area can be disorienting, and there's a lot of dead space in between.

“Opulent” is the word that comes to mind the minute you enter the lobby of the Hilton Americas-Houston. “Behemoth,” “gargantuan,” “leviathan,” and other SAT words also apply to the master of all downtown hotels. Lording over the southeast quadrant of downtown in a district that was once desolate, this is the original conference hotel next to the George R. Brown Convention Center and now directly across the street from the Discovery Green park. The gold leaf-engraved bas-relief of the world towering over the bar in front of you at the entrance is an instant indication of the luxury that awaits. If you’re not interested in the convention center or the park, the stadiums are next door or a short walk or street car ride away.

Hilton America's is one of my favorite hotels within the Hilton chain. When you walk in, the hotel just looks gorgeous from the lobby to the path of the rooms. The layout is pretty straight forward through the whole hotel and you won't easily get lost. Every staff member greeted and acknowledge my existence and did everything possible to make sure my stay was enjoyable.
My check-ins were easy and painless. I was greeted and smiled at the whole time. Whenever I called for the operator, they gave me correct information every time. They were very helpful and took care of my needs.

My room was cleaned and stocked with all bathroom amenities. the size of the room was just enough for my needs there. My room was exactly what I wanted and my view was fine. The only thing I would have to say is that I find it very difficult to adjust the temperature in the rooms. I had no idea on how to turn the temp down.

I was able to go to the pool and the outside patio area up there. It was nice and clean. You are able to do laps in the pool if you wanted to use swimming as your work out. The Gym was clean, free, and had a great view when your doing your cardio

The only thing about this location is that its not in a prime area for a lot of entertaining if you had a family with you. Its most businesses and a few bars and restaurants around. Parking and the internet can be a bit pricey in your pocket. There is free internet down in the lobby but if you do not have a Hilton Honors at a Gold or Platinum you will have to pay.

Other than that, the hotel is great and accommodating.

A great convention center hotel. Beautiful on the inside, yet not too assuming. It is a crosswalk away from the George R Brown Convention Center in Houston. The rooms are very nice and the hotel is well maintained. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.
