Moldavia is an important part of Romania. It gave the country numerous important figures – from political ones to art ones – so it was natural to create a museum dedicated to the Moldavian history. Opened in 1955 and housed at the Palace of Culture (Palatul Culturii), this museum features approximately 35,000 objects spanning the centuries from 70,000 B.C. until 1946. You’ll also find here the Kings’ Room (Sala Voievozilor) where you’ll see medallion-shaped portraits depicting Moldavian sovereigns from 81 A.D. to the Hohenzollern kings.
