Hawaiian plate lunch specialties, but are also very well known for their pancakes and breakfast offerings. The charming little establishment is decorated pleasingly, and the staff are very attentive and friendly. Diners here ought to consider planning ahead if you are hoping to enjoy dinner here on the weekends, because many locals and tourists alike conjure up the same thoughts come aloha Friday, resulting in crowds and long waits. Whether you are heading on in during dinner time, or are making an early trip of it for breakfast, this exceptional and affordable restaurant is sure to have something to please everyone.

You HAVE to come here for their famous pancakes and macadamia nut sauce. IT IS AMAZING! We would have bought a gallon to take home if it didn't mean having to check a bag. We cleaned up the plate of fluffy pancakes and sauce pretty quick.

You have to go here while on Oahu! The Macadamia pancakes are to die for. But get here early as it gets busy. And take cash or be prepared to use the ATM in the restaurant.

Cash only cafe specializing in local-style plates and macadamia pancakes. Be prepared to wait, as this is popular with tourists and you will see them queued up to get in. Not a ton of healthy options - mostly meat, eggs, and carbs - but they do have smoothies and acai bowls if you want something lighter! Super friendly staff.

Delicious macadamia pancakes! Do not miss. And I don't even like pancakes. There is ALWAYS a line so be prepared to wait. Also try the Portuguese sausage, a local favorite.

I think we waited at least 30 min for a table for two. We ordered one order of the banana mac nut sauce pancakes, a side of portuguese sausage, and an omlette (can't remember which one it was).

Honestly, the only thing that was great about the food was the Banana mac nut sauce pancakes! They lived up to their reputation. Super delicious, was light, yet filling. The omlette was okay, the sausage was a bit dry.

We went back in a few days with a couple of friends because the pancakse were THAT GOOD! This time, we ordered 4 orders of banana mac sauce pancakes with xtra sauce. The first time we had them, they could have definitely used some more sauce. The sauce itself is very light and fluffy, almost marshmellowy, so having xtra isn't too overpowering. They also offer the mac sauce pancakes regularly without the banana, but we didn't even bother trying those as the banana ones were so tasty. You get bits of pancake with soft banana pieces in it. mmmmm!

This place gets 4 stars because other than the pancakes, the food is mediocre and there's always a long wait.

Also, its CASH ONLY

get the mac nut pancakes!

i came here by myself which was good because i got seated right away (they felt bad for the lonely traveler perhaps) but bad because there was so much food i wanted to try and only one belly to feed. the food was delish and the service was friendly and nice.

come early or be prepared to wait!

p.s. go to lanikai beach which isn't too far from here... you'll feel like you walked into a postcard or a dream!

Boots and Kimo's is a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch. Most people come here for the breakfast food. Their most popular item is the macadamia nut pancakes. I was not in a pancake mood when I ate here so I decided to order the french toast with the mac sauce which was just as good. The mac nut sauce was awesome. The decor of the place was sports themed with a majority of majority of the memorabilia being football themed. The service was good and staff was pleasant.

In beautiful Kailua town this popular favorite houses their famous macademia coconut syrup that brings tourist and locals lining up to taste what this establishment has to offer. So what can I say further customer service is exceptional and the food speaks for itself. So if you don't mind the wait you may experience when coming to this famous tourist spot then come on down and enjoy what Kailua town has to offer.

Decent food but will never go back due to the worst service on O'ahu. Even management won't follow up with you. Definitely not worth the long wait. Oh and it's cash only. Ridiculous!

Incredible breakfast! I am not a fan of pancakes but the mac nut made me a believer. The wait was a little long due to all the tourists that come here but it was totally worth it. They take cash only so make sure to bring some, or there is an ATM right inside.

If you're in Kailua, make sure to stop in for some yummy mac nut pancakes and spam n eggs over fried rice

Get here early because there's a long wait if you come after 9am. Fast and friendly service. Cash only but there's an ATM inside.

pancake sauce you'll never ever forget! the wait for breakfast can be brutal, up to 2 hrs at one point. but soo worth it. the regular stack comes in 3, short stack in 2. the sauce is a creamy frothy macnut, their secret sauce that they will not give out nor sell. i can't remember ordering anything else from here, it's always pancakes with macnut sauce!

This is always an excellent place for breakfast. They open at 7:30 am - and close around 2:00 pm. Plan on a wait of 30-45 minutes. You know it's going to be good if people are willing to wait that long for breakfast. I would recommend the banana-macadamia nut pancakes!!! They are the best, and I don't even like macadamia nuts! The omelets are awesome too! It's great to split an omelet, and the pancakes - works well for 2 people. If you get the rice - don't get the sticky rice - they have another option, but I forget what it's called. It's worth the drive, if you're not staying in Kailua!!!

Great breakfast place. The banana pancakes with macadamia nut sauce were incredible. I'm still thinking about them. We also had an omelette with corned beef, cheese and onions that was fantastic. This place gets crowded, so come early or expect to wait a bit. The setting inside is not that impressive, and the service was mediocre. But for those pancakes...its worth it. We did see a bunch of people taking pancakes in takeaway containers and eating outside, in case you really can't wait.
