Description
Kailua is home to one of the most scenic waterfronts to be found along the entire coast of Hawaii. The feather in it's hat is Lanikai beach, which, according to numerous travel publications, is the ... Read more
worlds most scenic beach. Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks offers a number of tours and equipment rentals so to help make your time at this gorgeous beach all the more enjoyable. From Lanikai and the entire Kailua coast, the Mokulua islands provide a beautiful backdrop when gazing out to sea. Some of Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks's tours proceed to these rarely visited pristine islands on kayaks, sailboats, and paddle boats. If you aren't the group tour type, you are free to simply rent equipment and head on out on your own. Everything they rent is very much sea-worthy, making this service a great one to look up if you are spending any time at this picturesque beach location.

Rent a kayak or sailboard and walk it to Kailua beach to paddle to the Mokuleas. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and reliable equipment.

Two years running and these guys are nice and accommodating as can be. They give advice on what to do, where to go and will even toss a few kayaks on your roof for no additional charge. I will be back next year.

Only go to Kailua Beach:
1. Via your own car
2. On a sunny day
3. To kayak or kiteboard (rent through this shop)

We learned this by not doing any of the above. The Expedia "expert" at our hotel suggested that we buy a package from her that included roundtrip transportation, lunch, and a beach tour (not including kayaking) for $67/person. HUGE mistake! She just wanted to make a quick buck and never went into depth about what we were really getting.

Anyhow, we ended up having a terrible time and felt completely ripped off (we basically spent $140 on a L&L type of plate lunch). When we explained the situation to the manager of Kailua Sailboards & Kayaks, she was extremely professional and friendly, and offered us a partial refund, free kayaking (which we passed on because the weather was bad and we had enough) and a van ride back to our hotel before the designated shuttle pick up time. She provided such amazing customer service that I would definitely go back again (on the terms I listed above) and recommend that you do to, if you want to go kayaking at Kailua Beach.

The kayak tours are awesome - you can sit tandem or solo and choose how far you want to kayak. I did the 4-hour kayak tour with my then-boyfriend-now-husband and we both loved it! We started off in Kailua and kayaked to the Mokulua islands (there we got a tour of the island, queen's bath, wildlife, had lunch), then to a snorkeling spot near kailua, and eventually back to where we started. All in all, it was a 5-mile kayak tour but well worth it. Check for coupons online before you book and I highly recommend bringing a waterproof camera!

Kailua is home to a beautiful stretch of beach that is famed for it's fine white sands, calm waters, and picturesque off-shore islands. Visiting this area provides a nice and relaxing place to swim, and soak up sun as you snap great pictures, but without ocean sport equipment, it can be a little boring if you like to stay active. Thankfully Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks offers tours and equipment rentals that make it possible to explore this scenic area more than just through a camera lens. You can paddle right out the the Mokulua islands, or just explore beautiful Kailua Bay. Whatever it is you decide to do here, enlisting the services of Kailua Sailboards and Kayaks is a great way to expand your options and make your time here that much more enjoyable.
