Local from Las Vegas

Good, cheap, safe place to stay in Las vegas. Large sportsbook, and plenty of food options, and a country music nightclub.

Approximately 30 minutes from the Strip, Santa Fe Station is a nice property at the center of Northwest Las Vegas. There’s plenty to do here. The family-friendly hotel-casino houses Kids Quest like many of the Station Casinos properties. Next to Kids Quest there’s a Century Theaters movie theater and a full-service bowling alley. For adults looking to get some nightlife fun in can look to the country-themed bar Revolver. Around 10 p.m. is when the property begins to fill up with youngsters looking to party with their Western wear and line dancing moves. Wednesday nights are popular here with discounts for ladies for the night. Casual fare is dominant here with a food court featuring all tastes, a buffet, café and the Sports Grill. Other options include Cabo Mexican Restaurant or The Charcoal Room steakhouse. The rooms themselves feature updated décor, plenty of space for lounging around and are affordable to suite anyone’s budget.

As a Stations Casino, I found a lot of the same great things that this chain is well-known for, including a movie theater, a bowling alley, and a Kids Quest area for the children to stay occupied and supervised while mom and dad go have some fun at the slots or tables. There were a couple of things that really impressed me about Santa Fe Station though, that I think goes above and beyond some of their similar properties. While I was walking outside to the pool, I noticed a really nice little park setting with benches and local fauna that would be really relaxing and enjoyable if it wasn't 100 degrees out. When I finally made it to the pool, I was glad the long walk paid off. What a relaxing environment! There is a big waterfall that trickles down into the pool, and it about put me to sleep. So nice.

The rooms were another pleasant surprise, as they are more modern in their decor than the rooms I've seen as many of the other Stations Casinos. It's also an amazing view of the north mountains, so try to get a room on the 5th floor if you can. The only thing I did notice was that there was not a fridge in the room, but you can have that added for a nominal fee, and if you eat half your meal at restaurants like I do, you'll want a fridge so you can eat your leftovers at 3 a.m.! There also wasn't a safe in the room, which is sometimes the case even at casino hotels, so make sure to make other arrangements for your valuables if you plan to leave anything in the room. Overall, I was very impressed with Santa Fe Station!

On my recent visit to the Santa Fe I went to the Feast Buffet which is pretty good like most of the other Station Casinos. This is the newer of all the casino's and I really like it. It's huge and clean. The staff was so friendly and inviting I actually felt like I was on vacation while I was there. The casino is really nice but a bit smokey. They have new machines like the bigger hotels located on the strip.

The rooms are nice and spacious and well taken care of, but in my opinion they were just plain when it came to decor. There's a great as well that has some nice late night food specials, and if gambling isn't your thing there's a bowling alley, a movie theater, and even a kids center if you want some down time. A nice local spot, but still a great place to visit if your an out of towner.
