Just walking through the boutique hotel-casino, you’ll feel the vibe of how much The Cromwell appeals to the younger crowd with lavish bars and lounges, modern interior décor, trendy accommodations and one of the hottest nightclubs in town. The only downside I would say is that it is valet only. When valet is full or during holiday weekends, your best bet would be to self-park near The Linq Promenade and walk to the property. The Cromwell’s crowning jewel would have to be Drai’s Beachclub & Nightclub, a beautiful expansive indoor-outdoor space which also doubles as a concert venue. It’s open from Thursday through Sunday with special guest DJs and top-notch artists performing from time to time. The hotel-casino is so small that it only features one restaurant the hip, yet upscale eatery Giada on the second floor, which has a delicious brunch menu on weekends and a selection of Italian entrée options for dinner.

This is the former location of Bill's/Barbary Coast. Wow, how it has changed. The Cromwell is an affordably priced hotel, with good amenities in the heart of the strip.

Cromwell's opened a few years ago to much fanfare, as a renovation to Bill's Gamblin' Hall on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Flamingo. The flagship here is Giada DeLaurentis' new restaurant, which I hear is amazing. The Drais nightclub, with it's rooftop pool (and Dayclub) is quite popular among the younger crowd, but it's not really my scene. The rooms are gorgeous here, but the prices are outrageous and Caesar's Entertainment (who owns the Cromwell) doesn't seem to give any comps here (yet?). The casino floor is also beautiful, open and airy, but there is one very serious problem... the smell. I don't know if it's a scent that they pump in or if that's just how it smells, but when you enter the casino the whole place reeks terribly of body odor. You get used to it after awhile, but ew. I think I would pass on the Cromwell. Stay at Paris or Bally's next door instead. Much cheaper and you still get the same location.

I don't love the hugeness of las vegas, so this hotel was right up my alley. I think this is the only 'botique' hotel on the strip. The rooms are not huge but they are nice and the beds are really comfortable. The staff is really friendly. This is the home of Drai's Nightclub, which takes over the pool area at night. Definitely kind of a party scene. Giada's restaurant here is good.

It's a bit smaller, a little set back and hidden between Bally's and the Pink Flamingo but it was very nice inside and had nice drinks in the casino!

Located on the Las Vegas Strip, this used to be Bills Gamblin’ Hall which used to be the Barbary Coast. They didn’t do a full on gut job to the casino, so it still has that‘Bills’ feel. The Cromwell bills themselves as boutique hotel. My guess is they have a shelf life of about year before they open the place up to the unwashed masses and then it will no longer be the hip new place. Still it’s worth a stop in. Live it up you are in Las Vegas for cryin’ out loud!

The newly renovated, standalone boutique hotel in Las Vegas is charming with its Parisian loft apartment look and feel and its vintage touches. Great breakfast and happening atmosphere. Beware when ordering for room service. The coconut tea is exceptional, but for the $12 you pay, I'd better be!

For the central Strip location, Bill's usually has some of the cheapest rooms around. The neo-Victorian rooms are in much better repair than say, the Imperial Palace hotel rooms up the street. This place fills up fast, so make your reservations in advance. Also expect some construction noise and annoyance throughout the rest of 2012 while the LINQ outdoor entertainment complex is being built.

No frills or pretense here. Just a casino, diner, and a bar bar. Refreshing among all the glitz.

Old hotel-casino right on the strip between the Flamingo and Bally's and in the middle of everything. The $3.99 3-egg breakfast (from 11p-0600) is a steal for 2 slices of bacon, 3 eggs, toast, and hash browns. Not a fancy or delicious place, but when you want a cheap breakfast in the middle of the night, it beats Denny's that is right down the street.

Word on the street is that this established venue will be closing for renovations in April of 2013- which I assume will mean higher prices. For now- it's a cute little casino in the middle of the Strip with friendly staff and moderately priced cocktails. Nothing special, but worth a walk-through.

Centrally located, it's one of Sarah and my favorite stops. Why? The slots. The slots here are plentiful and the drinks fast.

Catch the Fat Elvis show in the bar, and you've finally lived.

Place is great!

At the very least, there are many classier Vegas hotels just out the door where guests can spend their waking hours if they so choose. But I found this hotel to be grungy, extra smoky and possessing a casino about as crowded and hectic as an airport terminal. The room was thankfully clean, but the hallways and elevators were grimy. The coat closet was, oddly, located within the bathroom. The window’s view was very nice, though: an unobstructed close-up of the Paris’s Eiffel Tower. The hotel’s Old-West theme is not as obnoxious as other themed hotels, and decorates with wood paneling, leather, dark colors and old-fashioned stained-glass signage. The Bellagio fountain show is visible from just outside. There is no pool or fitness center, though guests can use the Flamingo’s for a fee. There are two dining options; casual Victoria’s Café and upscale Steakhouse at Bill’s.

Sometimes, when you are on strip, and just want to find a cheap, no fuss, gambling spot with decently low minimums, you end up here.

It's VERY smokey here, so be warned. But, there's this little area with Elvis slot machines which is fun, and the table games are usually with $5 minimums and always full of rowdy fun people.
