in dark wood with creaking floorboards hiding underneath the thick carpets. If you’re a big, wide staircase lover (like I am) then get to the top floor and look the whole way down! The rooms are all decorated differently and feel very individual as a result. There’s lots of floor space and if you’re lucky (or you request) you’ll get a view with Big Ben in the distance… The building itself has two wings, the older and the more modern. The former has higher ceilings but smaller bathrooms, while the latter loses some of that old-world charm but decor is lighter which gives a very different feel. Location of the Connaught is great, right in the heart of Mayfair Village at Carlos Place. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around the area, but the hotel itself has a fair few to choose from too. Oxford Street and the West End of London are easily accessible from here, as is Hyde Park.

In one of the best areas of London. Very ritzy and clean. Check out the Connaught Bar which is ranked in the top 10 in the world.

A quaint cobble-stoned square, a gentleman with a top hat opening the door, The Connaught carries the essence of traditional old Britain. What looks like a fancy tudor manor house, The Connaught is a truly emblematic hotel of the Mayfair area. My experience there was welcoming and friendly, which honestly could be hit or miss in one of London's most exclusive areas where service often comes with a turned up nose. My favourite part of The Connaught was the Aman Spa - a luxurious and still space in London - where I had an uplifting acupuncture session. The hotel is also a just a few minutes walk from some of London's oldest shops like traditional watchmakers, as well as the exceptional fine dining of Shepherd's Market.

Set in the heart of Mayfair, on of the richest quarter in London, not far from the Hyde Park and just few steps by the church of the Immaculate Conception in Farm Street. The building is very old, you will still see antique decoration made in wood on the walls and ceiling. Rooms are spotless with nice furniture, nice touch the modern design, but they are also quite small, while suite dimensions are acceptable. Bathrooms are pretty well equipped and comfortable. Something that they really need to improve is the breakfast service which is really slow and is not included in the room price. There is not a buffet and you have to order à la carte and the portions are ridiculous. Despite that, I recommend this place to businessman or mature couples who are looking for a quiet and elegant place.

From the minute The Connaught came into my view from a block away, I liked it. I like the brick red building with the really stunning (both day and night) lit fountain immediately in front of the entrance to the hotel.
While you're paying top prices here, you're really getting what you pay for. Every square inch if the Connaught is intentional, stunning, and cozy, with rich mahoganies, fireplaces flickering, and a helpful smile at every turn. The whole place oozes romance, whether or not you're with there with someone special. I was there in the fall -- it was raining and chilly outside, and I felt relieved to be arriving at the Connaught every time -- always cozy and gorgeous but still comfortable. 5 stars!

Recommend the afternoon tea - though need to reserve. Otherwise the bar next to it is quite nice as well.

Incredible service. There's a small bar downstairs that serves a mean drink with tasty snacks. Expensive, but worth the splurge.

One of the most beautiful and most posh hotels in London, with prices to match. The service here is top notch down to the finest detail. In the lobby bathrooms an attendant waits to turn on the faucet for you, pump the soap and hand you a towel when you are done. The lobby centers around an imposing dark wood staircase. The rooms themselves, as is most hotels in London are small by American standards. But they are nicely decorated and bright. I stayed in the traditional wing. There is apparently a more modern "contemporary" wing with dark wood and toto Japanese toilets.

The location in Mayfair is very central, if less lively than Soho or Covent Garden. Overall a very nice hotel, particularly if you want the more traditional London. I personally prefer a more modern feel - soho hotel or Charlotte Street are a bit more fun.
